“Great Small Conference Facility But Let Down by Breakfast.......”

Last weekend, 03-04/05/2013 I attended a one day conference and found the facility comfortable, very well maintained (a little too cold in the afternoon) and easy to negotiate, with attentive staff and good food from room service and at the meeting.
I chose to stay overnight prior to this. The room with a view over the adjacent industrial sites was well maintained, with comfortable bedding, limited aircraft and traffic noise (as might be expected from an airport hotel) and most basic comforts attended to. This was good value. However, disappointingly, the breakfast service did not meet expectations of value for money. Most platters of fresh food and prepared cereals, fruit etc were empty and not refilled during the time I was there (8.30am-9.15am). There were no pastries remaining and none emerged. This appeared to be related to inadequacy of staff numbers and general supervision/management in the breakfast area. The one evident serving chef was sweating to provide adequate hot food service with that one staff member also having to respond to requests from his own colleagues for food to be supplied elsewhere. He was clearly not in any position to assess, prepare and replenish the many empty serving sites. While it was possible to obtain nourishment with what small choice remained, this lack of attention at 8.30am with a busy clientele seems to be a systematic issue for the management to correct rather than pressuring the limited staffing present on the day. This has left me with a somewhat negative impression of the experience, necessary because of the choice of conference venue by the organisers..

Booked this hotel after reading tripadvisor reviews. The hotel is very convenient to the airport but there is no noise from aircraft.
The hotel is a bit dated but very well maintained. Rooms are large and comfortable.
The room service food is poor quality and not value for money. Particularly breakfast is a big rip off with only set options and no a la carte choices. If staying at an airport hotel to catch an early flight often you want to eat something but not a full breakfast.

This hotel has wonderful amenities, well located rooms and comfortable bedding, so the owners must be particularly disappointed with the level of service by the staff. When I arrived I felt like no one was interested in taking care of me. Joining a queue to register to lugging my bags to the room. The food in room service was shocking, a soggy hamburger bun with soggy chips. I then went to the Oberio at Mumbai such a relief!!!!!

Great hotel right next door to Sydney airport but pleasantly sound proofed from aircraft noise. Spacious, modern rooms, great service, plenty of check-in staff and a regular shuttle bus. For an "airport" hotel, the Stamford more than ticks all the boxes. Facilities are all first class and the best part is the rates are more than reasonable. A great hotel to begin or end your travels from the airport district.

We had a change of flight plans at the last minute and stayed here quite by chance.

The rates were really reasonable given the fact that Sydney is really expensive and we could not book in advance.

The staff were really helpful. The room was large and really well appointed.

Close to the city. We will stay again.

Stayed here the night before flying back to Asia. Very convenient location near airport but not too far from city and shopping too. Lovely big room with large windy and comfy bed. Overall better than I expected as the price was much lower than any room I could afford even close to inner west or CBD ($150 vs $200 for other cheapest 4 star).

It was a short stay but overall very pleasant. The reception and concierge team were efficient and friendly on check-in and no issues with booking. The check-out guy was a bit abrupt and look like he was having a bad day and was rude but it did not change my opinion of the hotel (he just needs to get the carrot out of his butt). Always a shame when one staff member can impact your review of a good hotel. (otherwise would have given it 5/5.

I will definitely stay at the Stamford Plaza Airport again.

Room Tip: Nicer rooms are on higher floors but if only for one or two nights then standard rooms are more than...

Located within a 5 minute cab or shuttle ride from Sydney International Airport, this hotel provides the level of comfort and service expected from the Stamford Plaza Group of hotels.
An unusual aspect is being able to relax in one's room in perfect quietness, thanks to the finest double, or even triple-glazing windows, and watch giant airliners seemingly glide past one's room as they land or take-off.
The restaurant is as good as any Stamford Plaza fare ; both dinner and breakfast was of the best quality and selection (Be sure to check out their seafood buffet offering in the evenings ... It seemed that a host of locals love it!).
Efficiency of checking in and out will depend on whether you arrive simultaneously with a coach of group tourists ... We were lucky, but as we were leaving the hotel, things did start to get a tad messy.

Room Tip: Try for one overlooking the airport and as high up as possible.
