“Good value airport hotel”

My overnight stay for work was very enjoyable - Room 721 was a corner room so was a bit larger than the other rooms. Bed was comfy with a choice of firm or soft pillows. Love the fresh DIY juicer at breakfast. Good value for money and close to the airport.

We stayed here due to its proximity to the airport. Although the room was nice, the bathroom was dirty and made us uncomfortable every time we had to use it. There was an old rusty chair in it and it smelled like urine. Considering we've stayed in hostels around the world it was surprising to be grossed out by a bathroom in a hoilday inn.

Other than the bath, the staff were nice and the beds were comfy.

So we stayed here one night primarily to catch an early flight out of Sydney and thus avoid the drive to the airport in the morning.
From this perspective it was a success.
The room was clean and modern and the bathroom was good.
The bus in the morning was $6, breakfast is $25 which is not so bad for a hotel considering it was full buffet.

Main complaint was unbelievably slow checkin, just woeful how long it took.
Checkout even with two people on was very slow.
I am unsure what the delays are caused by but they need to be examined and removed.
Only other comment was the mini van driver was rather brusque, walked in to the lobby, yelled "bus going now" to which I appealed... could you at least wait for my to check out.
He truly glared at me and said nothing. Quite bizarre and very stressful.
You think the hotel would better coordinate things.

I would like to actually review this hotel BUT ...

i arrived at 11.00pm after a flight from Perth to find my guaranteed accommodation which had been booked through a travel agent was not available - the hotel had overbooked.

Bad bad bad !!!

Take the shuttle that goes to the airport hotels…..it is only $6 and it is charged to your room. The hotel has a couple of restaurants and a bar. We ate in Biggles Bar and Grill and the food was yummy and reasonably priced AND they had a “wine of the month” special where bottles of a couple of different types of wine were only $22!! The rooms are fairly big with a desk, chest of drawers, comfy chair, mini bar and a large comfy bed with both firm and soft pillows. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. For instance, we needed to get some documents notarized and mailed off to another country and they took the time to print out the walking directions from the hotel to the police station (note for Americans….police stations can notarize documents!!) and from there to the post office. We also needed help changing our reservations because our flight to Fiji was delayed by a day due to Cyclone Evan and they were very accommodating and helpful with that as well. Not much around in the way of restaurants that we saw but we’re happy to eat in Biggles again tonight. This isn’t somewhere I’d choose to stay long term since there isn’t much around other than businesses but it’ll be my first choice if I need to stay near the airport again.

We have stayed here many times, long before it became a Holiday Inn and not only before or after flights. However, we consider it the best all round option for an overnight stay before an early flight departure. It is about a 10 minute shuttle trip to the airport and is in a relatively quiet location.
While the hotel might possibly do with a bit of a mid-life makeover, it is consistently clean, functional and everything works. The staff are generally welcoming and helpful and the restaurant does a great buffet breakfast. The bar always seems cheerful and lively although we rarely use it.
A big plus, in my opinion, is in its proximity to the rail station - about a five minute walk - which gets you into the CBD in about 10 minutes. This is normally quicker, cheaper and more convenient than relying on taxis etc. There is little in the way of restaurants/entertainment etc around any of the airport hotels. To my knowledge, none of the other airport hotels are this convenient.
The standard is consistent and we shall continue to use this hotel.

We have stayed here on a number of occasions. It is a good basic airport hotel with a bar/coffee shop room service & a restaurant. The hotel offers a park & fly package with breakfast & airport transfers included which is very convenient allowing 7 days included parking. This has increased in price over the years but makes getting away & coming home much easier.
