“Great spot, poor service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Love the spot but service is getting worse.
Bernie obviously has his favourites, if you know him, you get a bit of a smile; if you don't, little communication.
The harbour was looking wonderful on New Years Day but few places were open, so I thought thankfully I can get lunch from Sophie's Place.
Unfortunately, little effort or thought went into the toastie and it was half cooked and luke warm.

“problem with opening hours”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

Still love the view and surrounding parks and gardens but can't always rely on Sophie's being open. Had no food at home after a couple of weeks travelling and Sophie's seemed an easy option for lunch. But closed at 1pm - so obviously becoming more of an early morning coffee and breakfast place.

“Perfect spot to watch the fleet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

It was a weekend of harbour activities with firstly the Tall Ships and then the world's naval fleets. Sophie's is the perfect place to watch any harbour side activities
- enjoyable breakfast of coffee and toasties on the barrels with the "coffee club" for company.

“Yes it's a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

And yes, you do sit on milk crates but there is nowhere better to enjoy the beauty of the harbour.
Have just returned from a trip down the Mississippi listening to blues music and my favourite places were shabby old juke joints sitting on barrels and crates just enjoying music at its natural best.
You don't need the frills of a modern café to enjoy the best of Sydney.

“Overpromoted, underdelivered.....in a great location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

It's well promoted as a 'cafe' but it is just a box on a wharf selling take away coffee to people who get to sit on milk crates alongside the rubbish!
