Dirty and old with cockroaches in the curtains. Metal bars everywhere made us feel like we were in a bad area. Only good thing is proximity to the airport.

After reading the reviews of this hotel I was expecting a Fawlty Towers experience. In fact it was acceptable on all fronts. When I booked, the booking was taken courteously and speedily and the person I spoke to was upfront about a $6 charge for the shuttle bus which I was fine about. I was promised 5 days free parking while I was on my trip to NZ. On arrival the reception staff were similarly courteous and efficient.

The room was average for a motel standard accommodation. A ticket on the bed told me the name of the person who had cleaned the room - and she did a good job. Sure the bathroom was small and the shower was definitely small, which might make it a bit tricky for an exceptionally large person, but it was acceptable for me. The 'single' room actually had a double bed and a single bed.

I saved about $140 in car park fees which more than covered the $122 that I paid for the room and the $12 that I paid for the shuttle buses (if it hadn't been raining I could have walked the distance as it and the Mercure are the two nearest hotels to International). On my return to pick up the car the receptionist was again diplomatic and courteous when I neglected to pay the $6 that I owed them for the return shuttle bus (an oversight - I forgot it wasn't free).

So Basil Fawlty never showed up during my stay and I will happily stay there again particularly if I am doing an overseas trip and need to park my car somewhere.

Booked at motel for convenience of proximity to airport due to travel commitments for following day. Based on price I expected that the establishment would not be top class, but was dismayed by the attitude of the Night Manager when I registered a complaint when the shuttle left us stranded at the airport and we had to get a taxi to the motel.
the room was about backpacker standard,tiny but reasonably clean with minimal comforts, like no hand towels or toiletries apart from two miniature cakes of soap.
Television provided some interest, while in the room,but only for about a quarter of an hour whilst we tried to get a picture that we could watch but alas no success.
Breakfast was something to write home about. we were told by reception where and when breakfast was available so duly rolled up for breakfast to be imformed that we had to pay for it despite being booked in for b&b ..It seems that reception should have given us vouchers when booking in but again???
Chipped Crockery ,no side plates ,no fresh cutlery for toast spreading ,two clapped out toasters meant standing in a queue if you wanted toast.
For food there was a very minimal selection, which I would classify at about Soup Kitchen standard.
What more could one say except that in future I will certainly read the reviews before I book accommodation.

This hotel advertises that it offers "5 days complimentary parking" and I relied on this claim when I pre-booked and paid for my stay. On arrival, however this was refused and I had to find alternative parking. If you are considering staying at this hotel, I would recommend you not rely on their advertised claims.
