“it was fine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

we were pleased with the hotel,it was super clean and since we booked top secret room,we got very large one bedroom, and partial ocean view...there is not much around as far as of bars ,restaurants to go out at night but there is a cvs, subway ,places where you can grab breakfast ....we had the car so we mostly spent our evenings at south beach which is 15 minutes ride with a car...the hotel has the private beach ,pool, bar and the inside restaurant but its a bit pricey...overall it was good...i really cant recall any negative side of this hotel...

Room Tip: book a top secret room on travelocity

We stayed at the Newport Beachside Resort which is north of Miami and were very pleased with our accommodations. We obtained this through Priceline and at the price we paid, this was a great deal. The hotel is beautifully appointed in the lobby area and has a wonderful pool and private beach. The hot tub was not working, though, while we were guests. Our Priceline room was not beachside, but it was fine with a view of their stylish entry way. The room and corridors are a little "tired" but still stylish. Our room had the convenience of a mini fridge, microwave, and safe. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was adequate if not very crowded at times, but we were seated promptly and served cheerfully. The hotel is very family friendly and I noticed pets in the lobby also.

Room Tip: Beachside are best, but also the most costly. Upper floors have better view.

Booked hotet 8 months in advance for 8 people through Expedia (3 rooms)!!! After our flight from UK arriving during the evening on the 13th December 2012, the staff informed us that they had over booked!! Staff were so so so unprofessional, after several requests to speak to the management, no one was available to speak to us, although we could see someone in the back office but all they wanted to do was get rid of us....

Room Tip: Never book this hotel!! You will be let down....

Although this hotel/resort has an excellent location on the beach, my husband and I experiences headache after headache from the time we entered this establishment. Our room was not ready, it did not have a functioning safe and our things got locked in the first safe. the staff did not respond in a timely fashion to address our issues. This is part of a time share/vacation club and we were told we could sit through a 90 min presentation and get an hour free on the jet skis, only to have the presentation be 2 1/2 hours and the jet skis were not functioning.
We tried to use our resort credit at Kitchen 305, but the meal was terrible, and it took so long for my husband's replacement meal to arrive that they did finally comp our whole meal.
there is a big pool, but it set at a very a=warm temperature, there is no functioning hot tub either. apparently the rooms are in the process of being renovated, but this seems to be a slow and painful process for all.
pass this one by.

This hotel has a great location, but what does it say about a hotel when the best thing about it is the ability to leave it for somewhere else easily. Could do with someone coming in and giving it some attention. In order to get any reasonable wi fi it is neccesary to bring your laptop down to reception, I tried two different rooms without any luck before giving up. Nice to have a whirlpool in the room , would have been nicer if it had worked. Walls are very thin , could easily hear everything going on in adjacacent rooms. Very helpful concierge lady. Hotel on bus route to mall and South Beach , only $2. Also good shops opposite hotel inc CVS pharmacy which came in handy when I was stung by jellyfish on beach. Beware that there is an extra resort charge of $10 a day, which apparently is for the wi fi !!! and the outdoor pool. There is also a charge for parking the car. Rooms very clean.

We spent three nights in this hotel with the family. The rooms are a little bit old, but still very clean and nice, we even had a whirlpool in our room, the kids loved it!
The hotel might be a little bit noisy, depending on the room you will get as there is a big intersection just right in front of the hotel.
Breakfast is great too, but they only offer it for 4 people tops, even if you're a party of five in a room (as we were). When we asked why, the answer was "company policy"... C'mon, people tend to talk about negative points 10 times more than positive ones, so I don't understand why they do that...
Parking is either valet for 20 bucks a day or across the street for 15, just consider that you always have to cross the street, if you don't use valet parking.
Still can recommend this place, but there might be better ones...
