“Great Stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2012

I stayed last week from June 18-June 22, 2012. I was with my sister and had a wonderful time. All of the staff went above and beyond and everyone was very friendly. This was part of a Groupon Package & I have to admit I was a little leary because of some of the reviews I read about the hotel. Granted the regular room was small, there was not alot of storage place but if you get a 1 bedroom you should have more than enough room. The hotel is very European Chic. I had tours with Miami Nice so we were hardly in the room so it didn't matter. The hotel is very central near restaurants, shops, pharmacies, etc. Also we took public transit from the airport, total amout was $4.35 per person. A taxi was $52.00 and a shuttle was $24.00 per person. It took less than an hour and it was enjoyable to see the sights.

I have traveled all around the world and this is one of the best hotels i have ever stayed at. There was not a single thing that disappointed me about this property. The entire staff was very helpful and most importantly friendly. My room was spotless and the views were AMAZING!! The food at the hotel was delicious and last but not least the beach was very clean and beautiful. My fiance and i really enjoyed staying at this hotel for our romantic getaway i would not change a single thing about our experience. Special thanks to hotel managers Gio and Chris for the extra help making our vacation amazing. I will defiantly be returning to this hotel for another great vacation thanks, Sagiv Marga

Hi to all
We purchased the unit 2301 in sept 2011
We have never visited until june 2012
We are very glad of our visit about the condo hotel. Our unit had a 20000$ update because of the previous owners. We are very happy about the unit.
The location is excellent as it is close to all restaurants, shops, pharmacy and of course the beautiful beach
It is getting a phase II makeover too with new restaurant
the staff on the beach, parking, valet and the management were very helpful
We are happy with the investment and can not wait to come back soon
As the complaint for the resort fee and the parking: it is everywhere
if u go to southbeach: it is 20 $ per chair and 10 for the umbrella
and u r crowded like a sandwich

I most recently stayed at Sole in early June. This place keeps getting better each time I stay. The bar is now open and the food and drinks are great. The relaxing vibe by the pool and attentive service on the beach are also great. I will definitely stay here again, all the relaxation of the beach without the hassle of South Beach.

This is the worst review I have ever written about a hotel. We will never stay here again and would not recommend this property to anyone. Granted the weather was awful and that may have tainted my opinion. However, resort hotels should be able to please their clientele no matter what the weather.

The plusses:

1. Only one, a very nice lobby

The Minuses:

1. Very unhelpful staff with a could give a damn attitude. Customer service training is sorely needed at this property.

2. Toilet did not flush and it took two phone calls, approx. 4-5 hours apart, to get it fixed.

3. No restaurant. Buffet breakfast in the bar was just OK. The nearest restaurants were 4-5 block away. Not very inviting if the weather is not good, which it wasn't. Since is was pouring outside, we asked if the hotel had umbrellas to lend. They had none. As for the bar, the bartender did not seem to have much experience and did not seem to know how to make an appletini for my wife.

3. In order to get the so called 'ocean view' it would have been necessary to step out onto the balcony (all of 2-3 feet in depth if that much). However the balcony doors were sealed shut.

4. One if the two beds in the room was so saggy that one would roll to the middle while sleeping.

5. This property is really a condominium posing as a hotel until a sufficient number of units can be sold. Sales pitches were ongoing while we were there.

6. The room was small with the smallest television I have seen in a hotel in decades.

We left Sole on the Ocean after two night despite having paid non-refundable for three and will not be going back, not even for free.

Dear Valued Guest,

We are truly sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. With limited and much anticipated vacation time, we understand that rain during a beach holiday is most disappointing. Sole on the Ocean is a beachfront boutique hotel and our goal is to provide a personalized and relaxing beach stay regardless of the weather. As such, we take all guest comments to heart and rest assured, your comments were shared with our entire team.

A saggy bed and non functional door are certainly not acceptable and we do apologize for the inconvenience. We will be sure to address this immediately Kindly note for future reference, our guest service agents, when notified of an issue, work with guests to find an alternative room that will satisfy their needs. Also kindly note that we provide pictures of views from each room category on our website and online booking websites to assist guests in their room selection. If you should need additional assistance, our on-site reservations agents are happy to help.

The hotel was designed and built as a condo hotel. This has been the primary form development for luxury hotels in Miami for more than a decade. Due to restrictions on the frequency of owner use of their units, the units remain under the management of the hotel. Sole on the Ocean has always operated as a hotel and units, while they may vary in size, are required to remain uniform in style of furniture, linens and amenities as any hotel would be.

Regarding food service, we offer, as you mentioned, a buffet breakfast in the morning as well as a full service lunch in the pool and beach areas from 11am to sunset. In the event of inclement weather, lunch is served in the lounge, which offers board games, tv's and wi-fi for guest use. We also offer in room dining from 11am to 10pm and dining in the lounge from 5pm to 10pm.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments as these help us continually improve our service.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at the Sole On The Ocean in Miami. Overall the hotel was very nice with a couple of minor issues which kept it from receiving 5 stars from me.

Pros: Very thick walls, comfortable beds, very quick valet service, wonderful front desk staff
Cons: Very poor Wi-Fi reception in the rooms, wait staff uniforms for breakfast (they were in jeans), cost of valet ($25/night), no in-room refrigerators

Room Tip: The non-suites are very small which for us was a issue since it rained 3 of the 4 days; however if y...
