This hotel is reasonably clean,but rather tired in decor.Consider it a budget hotel in need of refreshing. the room was spacious enough,but the soiled carpeting needs replacement.
The pool was small ,tucked at the side of the hotel.
There was free breakfast ..of the usual fare..waffles ,yogurt,cereal etc.Coffee was lousy and although offered all day..was never rebrewed...hence becoming undrinkable.
The desk clerks were polite and helpful.The location,near the turnpike and right at the southern tip on Miami,made going to the Keys very easy.(loved Key West!!!)
The room rate should have clued us in that we were definitely in a 2 star hotel. why were we surprised and disappointed?

The bed was rock hard, so hard I was awake all night tossing and turning. Asked for a pillow topper, was told flatly No, and since I was booked and paid for three nights already.... well it was a tired few days. Used to go here, will never go again. Management has changed and apparently customer service and comfort have flown the coop. Sad because it was kind of a hidden gem before, and close to one of my favorite activities in the Miami area, Monkey Jungle.

We were looking for a place to spend a night within a reasonable drive of the Everglades. It's a reasonably good economy hotel in an area that doesn't have a lot of reliable options. It's about a 20 minute drive to Homestead and then whatever the drive is to the Everglades itself. It's not a 4 star hotel, but we gave it a "very good" based on a clean place to sleep with good internet. Plus, between Xmas and New Years, there were very few vacancies.

We had stayed at this LQ previously and felt very welcome and comfortable. Its not the fanciest, but that didn't matter before. However, the new management is very stiff and formal and uptight, and unwilling to cooperate. The staff that stayed on are still very pleasant, but cannot engage as helpfully as before due to new manager, it just feels very cold and unpleasant. Almost got run over by a maintenance person moving trash bins somewhere, no acknowledgement or smile or anything. The beds are hard, not the usual high quality pillow top of LQ everywhere. Our room was doused in perfume, heavily, and although clean it was not as nice as other LQs or as nice as the rooms here used to be. I will not come here again, and I will urge my friends and family to choose a different LQ.
