Stayed here in Feb 2012 for just short of a week and had a nice time. It is a low budget, low frills hotel but it is priced accordingly. Restaurant on the beach was not that great, and not affiliated with the hotel but had great happy hour 2 for 1 beers. The restaurant on the street was affiliated and the guests got 20% off an already good priced men and the food was awesome there.
Rooms are varied - nice ones nearer the beach but I think you have to have them for a month, and the ones nearer the street were smaller but adequate. Small beds and small showers but seemed to be clean enough. Pool was OK, but a bit slimy, don't think it got cleaned very often but then only little kids were ever in it.
Hotel is quiet enough as there are no bars or nightclubs that close, but sleep was interrupted by local stray cats doing what stray cats do in the middle of the night. I had no idea they could be so loud, and with the window open it was quite disturbung. Certainly not the hotels fault though. The manager of the hotel is this wonderful lady who goes the extra mile to make everything right for you.
We have friends that have stayed here several times and just love it, I personally think there are better rooms in better hotels for similar cost. I don't think we will stay there again but will definitely go back to Guyabitos as it is a wonderful little town.
