We were the only guests - it was just after the swine flu outbreak, but we decided to go to Mexico still. For a romantic, relaxing getaway where you can completely unwind, I'd highly recommend Bungalows Lydia. Great hosts, very friendly, very clean - rooms cleaned daily, gorgeous infinity pool on the cliff top overlooking the beach, amazing sunsets. You have the option to do some adventure activities (horseback riding, island trips etc), and close enough to places if you're up for day trips and sightseeing, but we were there to unwind - which we did very easily in this beautiful place. So much so that we conceived our first baby, due on Valentines day 2010. We stayed in the sunflower suite overlooking the pool - as we were the only guests, it was very relaxing and quiet. Had there been other guests, I think one of the other bungalows would have suited us better. We got directions to the local fisherman in San Pancho and shopped locally - very basic, but everything we needed. Cooked some fabulously tasty but simple seafood dishes in our outdoor balcony kitchen and watched the sun set over the ocean while sipping heavenly fruit cocktails. A word on the beaches - while beautiful, be warned that it can be a bit rough with a strong undertow, so be prepared to be dumped by the waves if you're playing in the surf - the water was perfect temp, and the small beaches were great to stroll on, but if you want a calm beach you need to go to San Pancho. This was probably the most relaxing vacation we've had - being out of town was great, but for a change of scenary, there are some very good restaurants in the village, and everyone was very friendly. If you like uncomplicated simplicty and relaxation this in lovely surrounds, this place is ideal. Thanks Lydia and Mayte for creating this oasis. It was bliss, and will always be remembered as a special place where we conceived our daughter.
