Cuisines: Steakhouse
Description: We are a traditional country pub situated right on the edge of the severn estuary. We serve bar meals downstairs on thursdays, fridays and saturdays along with our popular sunday lunch. We also have a steakhouse restaurant upstairs which opens on a friday and saturday night and serves "steak on a stone" which is a hot volcanic rock that cooks your steak to perfection at your table. This restaurant is strictly adult only because of the hot rock system.

“Excellent Meal and Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

This is our third visit to the steakstone restaurant upstairs in the Lighthouse, and it certainly won't be the last!

The quality of the food it outstanding and plenty of it so make sure you come with an empty stomach!

Cooking your own steak on the steakstones is great, cooking it exactly as you like it. The chips/wedges and a whole variety of side dishes are superb too.

And if you have room for dessert, you must try the homemade cheesecake, the flavour changes every week, we had the crunchie cheesecake and it was delicious.

Nothing is too much trouble and we are always made to feel welcome. All the staff are very friendly. 10 out of 10 from us and we will be back.

“Don't be put off by the reviews of the pub,the restaurant is upstairs.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

The restaurant only serves food on the weekend, however the pub serves food all week. We booked a table to eat at the restaurant beginning of July for the steak stone, what a great unique idea they have here. Your steak is seared on all sides then you cook the rest to your liking on a stone baked to 360'c. It's a great way to have your steak cooked to your liking. You also choose 3 sides and 3 dipping sauces to accompany your steak from a wide selection. They also do exotic meats which must be pre-ordered. We will definitely be returning soon to eat at the restaurant again.

“a run down and grubby pub”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

This was an option for dinner, walking towards it and then going inside it made me very glad it that I had other options. It's a pub, not a place to eat, and a fairly run down pub at that

“Staff were rude before we even entered!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2013

Having finished an early shift in work, me and my friend were looking forward to enjoying a nice afternoon walking along the sea front and then enjoying a drink within the pub. We parked up in the large empty car park and proceeded to begin our walk. As we walked, a gentlemen started to shout at us. At first we didn't realise what he was saying, but after walking back slightly we realised he was shouting "your not exempt from paying you know!". Assuming he meant the car park we walked back to realise to our mistake it was actually a pay and display car park. We returned and quickly paid for our parking ticket. In doing so we noticed that in actual fact not one car within the car park had paid for a ticket, I can only assume this was a personal attack on us because we were the younger than the other people who had parked without paying in his car park. He certainly did not start shouting at the old ladies who were parking up to take their dogs for a walk. Granted, you apparently get a refund if you use the bar, but after such a rude welcome we decided after 20mins to cut our visit short and go elsewhere where we had a delicious meal in a lovely atmosphere. If you are under 30, I wouldn't bother visiting this place as the owners clearly do not care about welcoming younger people in to their establishment and are clearly money grabbers by charging people to use an empty car park.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

My husband and I visited the Lighthouse Inn almost by accident, having gone out with our two friends for our 'usual' Friday evening meal. As has been mentioned by other reviewers, we tried a couple of places in the area (we are fairly local) but weren't impressed with any of them. Two of us grew up in this area and remembered the Lighthouse from many years ago. It has of course been taken over since those days! We were so impressed. The welcome we had was exceptional - thank you Helen! The restaurant is beautifully located and we looked forward to trying our stone-baked meals. They didn't disappoint. Three of the party had steaks - along with the sides and dips - and said they were just delicious. I had a salmon fillet - and I have to say it was probably the best salmon I have ever tasted. The chef can be seen preparing the meals and she didn't stop all evening. Even the side salads were fabulous. All in all a really lovely evening. We'll definitely be back!!
