My husband and I took my parents here after purchasing a Groupon voucher for 4.
The restaurant was very stylishly decorated.
We all ordered different starts and had quite mixed feelings. My Tikka Paneer was totally bland. No tikka taste to it at all - not sure if it was supposed to be like that but it wasn't what I expected.
The pakoras were very nice, as were the poppadoms and other starters.
The mains arrived and to be honest, tasted more like pasta that curry.
I ordered a chicken tikka biryani - the rice with chicken was very tasty on its own, but the sauce I can only describe as a tomato pasta sauce. No creamy taste, no spices, just pasta style sauce. I discovered this a little late and had already smothered my food in it!
My mum had a butter chicken which was better, and I used some of this sauce to liven mine up.
The gents also had curries which were average.
I was amazed that we were only able to order Stella or Fosters. No bottles of Cobra beer available.
In the background there was indian music playing, not really loudly, but it got quite repetative and every now and then someone would open the bar door and we would hear the pop music from there, which would have been preferable.
The staff were very polite and attentive - no fault with them at all.
The bar next door seemed quite nice, with a chill out area featuring a projected TV, darts and a snooker table
All in, it was an average meal for the groupon price. Not sure I would make the effort to go back tho,
