A lovely stay with very friendly people. Excellent accommodation - with a wonderful shared sitting/dining room complete with a log burning stove and a good collection of games! Ideal for two couples to share.

We are very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. It was very memorable for us and we would like to thank you for being so generous with your time and allowing our son to sit in your beautiful cars. We couldn't agree more that our accommodation very much lends itself to having both rooms taken by the same party. It means that you get the self contained guest wing all to yourselves - so you can really relax.
We hope to see you and your cars again.
Many thanks and best wishes

Delightful B/B. We only stayed one night in order to visit an elderly Aunt in Newtown. Warm welcome, lovely room, comfortable bed, oak floors, rain shower, spacious and cozy private lounge with log burner, delicious breakfast and only a few minutes from Dingle, a lovely, well stocked garden centre and the beautiful countryside surrounding Welshpool. Enjoyed the chat too. Hwyl Pat.

Old school bed & breakfast is the best I've ever stayed at. Lovely fire, hot shower, sound sleep, delicious breakfast; it couldn't have been better. Vickie is definitely the hostess with the mostest--so friendly and a great cook to boot. The hens were a plus, and we really enjoyed our hike at the "fort big." Thanks for the tip, Vickie!

Room Tip: There are only two and both are fab.

We loved having you all to stay. And although you came along way to be here it would be great to think that you will make a return visit in future. I hope the rest of your trip was as much fun as you have in this area.
Best wishes to you all

We descended on The Old School, tired and not a little bit fed-up from being cooped up in a van together for too many hours. Vickie and her lovely family made sure that we were welcomed and looked after so well that all tension was gone in minutes. I travel extensively for work and occasionally you arrive somewhere and just know that it is going to be a great experience. This was one of those times. The children were taken and introduced to the chickens, the in-laws relaxed in the leather sofa, and all was well with the world.

Breakfast was amazing, and I would also highly recommend staying for dinner if you can. Vickie (and Tim?) will rustle up a lovely meal that, combined with her family heirloom dining table and the roaring log fire in the wood stove, will ensure that complete relaxation is rapidly achieved. Especially knowing that, compared to the cost of nearest available hotel (45 mins away!), this is a veritable bargain. I just wish I'd had the foresight to book it for our first night, instead of having to find somewhere (under the gun of tired and hungry family) in Welshpool. That said, Vickie also had some great recommendations for that, and The Corn Store restaurant coped admirably with our party of 7.

Everyone in our group (5yrs to 75yrs) agreed that they would love to come back again. Great if you're planning to visit Powys Castle, which is only a 10 min drive away, and only an hour to Manchester.

Stayed over the Easter period for one night with a family of four - two are ten and under. Felt very welcome and also the set up is such that visitors are in a separate annex meaning theres plenty of space.

Food good, log warmer warming - you wont be disappointed.

The home made marmalade was a delight too. Don't eat it all in case we return soon!

Room Tip: There are two visitors rooms - we didn't get to see the other one

A lovely welcome by hosts Vickie and Tim started a really fabulous weekend. We loved the spacious bedroom and the guests Morning Room - a great upgrade from your normal B&B.. The log burner was wonderful, although we had great weather too. The Welsh breakfast was a great start to a day's sightseeing and we opted for the in-house menu on our first night. Lovely homemade food and Vickie accommodated my wheat free needs easily with prior warning. Thank you for such a lovely break and we hope to see you soon. M, A & F x

We always welcome reviews from our guests and are very happy to hear that we have got it so right for you. As you had not stayed with us before it was important that we paid attention to the finer details of your needs - as it is for all our guests. I am very pleased that you felt your wheat free diet was properly catered for. We look forward to seeing you all later in the summer for your next visit. In the meantime we send our best wishes.

How could anyone be disappointed here. Vickie is a warm and welcoming person and made us feel as if we had known her for years. The property is in a lovely rural and quite location with just the occasional vehicle passing. The rooms we used - Oak Room with its en-suite and sitting/dining room were clean and comfortable, the wood burner made sure that we were never cold even though our visit was in March and there was snow one morning! The breakfast is fulfilling with eggs from their own hens running loose in the garden. There is the added bonus of a choice of evening meals if you want, we had three different evening meals on the three evenings of our stay and were not disappointed! There is plenty of off road parking space. All things considered we will certainly stay here again, if and when we are in the area, and have already started recommending The Old School B&B to our friends and relations. There is nothing negative to say about this B&B, go and see for your self.

Room Tip: There are only two bedrooms which is a plus from our point of view. We had the Oak Room which is do...

Thank you for such a generous review. We really enjoyed your company over the three nights of your stay and were very pleased that you enjoyed all aspects of your stay so much. The weather did leave a little to be desired but our log burner never fails to make our guests feels warm and welcome. We would love to see you both again.
Best wishes
