“tired and worn out looking cafe - but nice food and staff made up for it.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Nice, simple food. Lovely staff. Only downside was the decor - tired and dated! in desperate need of a revamp! Old-fashioned furniture ect (but suppose just not to my personal taste).

But overall - nice.

“not great”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2013

the food was lovely and the cafe had quick service but when we came to pay, the waitress (who had just served us) kept trying to take an order. Generally, she seemed to be not very with it

“They take very good care of their regulars”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2013

But clearly you have to have been eating here for years, as i've been going for the past year regularly and often get served after their regulars, even though i've placed my order before they have arrived, that aside, they do wonderful food, the brie and cranberry panini is the best i've tasted, the coffee is excellent and the choice of cakes quite scrumptious. All in all an excellent cafe, and reasonable priced.

“Excellent Little Cafe; well presented food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

Went here for a spot of lunch with my partner and we both ordered jacket potatoes.

He ordered brie and bacon and myself tuna melt - both looked absolutely delicious.
The portions are ample and it even comes with what tastes like home made coleslaw and a unboring side salad (baby toms, lambs lettuce, grated carrot, cucumber) - a wonderfully refreshing change to plain old iceberg lettuce and cucumber that normally grace the plates of other places.

The fillings in both jackets were big and very very tasty - quite possibly the best jacket I've ever eaten :) Well prices at just over £5.00 a portion.

Will definately come again next time to taste the cake selection :)

“A real let down”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013 via mobile

We have been to this cafe before and always loved it! Good food.

I visited today with my parents. The restaurant was dirty, the table wasn't cleaned from the previous customers until we asked. The waitress' t-shirt even looked filthy, dust all over the counter and the little bell which was a nice idea. We had to clean off crumbs from our seats. The toilets were filthy and the seat clearly not cleaned. The waitress never smiled and didn't seem bothered we were there.

Having said this the food was ok but was expensive for what we got. It was served in good time.

We will not be returning.
