“Enjoyed my stay here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for one night and enjoyed it. I was by myself and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. I particularly found how patient and attentive staff were in dealing with the varied ages of their guests. It was a little overpriced for my budget but on reflection it was worth it. Both the evening meal and breakfast were tasty. The room was clean and large size.

Stayed a the Wynnstay prior to an early morning business meeting in the area. Was pleased to fin the hotel in the centre of the town. The reception staff were very welcoming. I had soup and lamb for dinner which was very good, cooked perfectly and locally sourced. I would definitely stay again go both business or leisure. Only downside was that also Wifi works in the entrance there was no signal in my room at the rear of the hotel.

We stayed for one night in the Wynnstay during the May bank holiday weekend. We'd arrived having cycled down from Holyhead and were a little late because of a closed bridge at Harlech.

Not only did they keep the kitchens open for us... They even added pasta to the menu because they knew what we were doing.

Having cycled into a 30 mile an hour headwind for 100 miles and across some of the bigger hills in Wales, food was essential and the hotel / kitchen Staff were awesome.

Thank you

I've given this a high rating because I just felt very comfortable and relaxed there. I know the carpet's a bit tatty, the rooms could do with redecoration etc. But, it's a very cosy place to stay. The communal areas are really nice, and you can sit with your computer by a log fire with a good internet connection. Hard to fault - and not expensive either.

I needed a room for the night after working late in the area & I was too tired to travel the 120m journey back home. I had a work colleague who lives in Machynlleth who advised that this had a reputation as a very good local Hotel.
I found all the staff on the night very charming & extremely helpfull considering that I had no overnight provisions as this was a bit of an emergency stay over. I paid £89.60 for a single room for the night which included a 3 course evening meal & breakfast, The meals were all delicious & freshly cooked using local produce & each course was excellent
The service was great, the room was more than adequate for 1 person, lovely & warm with a Victorian feel & the single bed very comfortable, it had a large bathroom, bath, shower & fresh clean linen & towels. Tea, coffee, buiscuits & hot chocolate were also provided.
All in all very nice, large old fashioned hotel & I would definately go back if the need arises. Ideal stay over /base for getting around North Wales.
Very pleasant experience.

For me it was just a place to stay. i wasnt asking for anything special. its in Perfect location in the town center, with comfortable beds, very welcoming, and a great breakfast. Maybe a bit pricey but its a good spot. I would be glad to stay there again.
