“a short visit or a day out wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

plenty of free parking out of season lovely walks well marked. you can drive round the whole lake or stop off at many view points. wonderful walk up to the waterfall . watch out for the giants of vyrnwy trail the tallest tree has been partly felled due to storm damage it is now a fantastic carving by simon o'rouke of a hand pointing to the sky , the detail is wonderful it even has fingernails and hand creases. there is a car park almost opposite by the lake so you dont have far to walk. A wonderful viewing rspb hide with so many different birds next to the cafe and gift shop. lovely ice cream and food. You can go back time after time and see so many different places there. dont forget to visit the sculpture park. all in all a magical day or days out.

“Fantastic day out!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

Just had a lovely day in the sunshine at Lake Vyrnwy. Plenty of parking, lovely walks, excellent maps showing the routes and a really great day. Walked the Blue Trail which was a bit steep in a couple of places which got the heart pumping, then across to the Sculpture Park and then across to the Green Trail up to Rhiwargor Water Fall which was a much easier shorter route. All routes were very well signed and it was clear which way to go. The public toilets were exceptionally clean and they deserve the award they won for their cleanliness. Then had a lovely lunch at Artisans Cafe. The RSPB shop is well worth a visit too. All in all a lovely day out.

“Stunning lake but take your own bike and avoid Artisan cafe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

We were really looking forward to cycling around the lake on a stunning Feb morning. Unfortunately the staff at Artisans coffee shop refused to hire the bikes out because of brash on the ground - we thought they were joking and said we were very happy to get off if we found any fallen branches (and when we walked the route it ws clear) but they clearly couldn't be bothered to get 4 bikes out. Avoid this cafe/bike hire - they are rule crazy (every table has a no smoking sign, you have to ask for a key for the loo which may be understandable in peak season but this was February and we were the only visitors).

The little bird hide was magical - don't miss it.

“Stunning Beauty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Despite living less than an hour's drive away I had never previously visited this attraction. It took my breath away...the beauty of the Lake itself, the sight and sound of the spectacular Victorian dam, the power of the water, all fabulous. All amenities are available without it ever being 'touristy'. There is an RSPB hide where you can observe the birdlife and a tranquil sculpture park. This is a place you will want to return to once you have visited it for the first time.

And all for nothing!
