“A little piece of paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2012

Didn't think my fifth visit could get any better.EXCEPT this time I asked Sylvie if she could arrange somebody to provide massage.Like every other request I've made(not that I'm any kind of Diva......)Sylvie knew just the right person who came specially to offer amazing Shiatsu therapy. What a great package. Hot tub,Sauna and massage. Homebakes and Fron-tastic cooking. One day I will NEVER leave.

Set in a beautiful location (even in the rain) this B&B is head and shoulders above most and well deserving of its 5 star rating.

The room was more than ample size with a lovely comfy king sized bed, wardrobe, dresser, tv, chairs and stunning views of the landscape around. An updated stunning bathroom with bath and shower which was ensuite and all areas were spotlessly clean.

However the hidden gem about the place is the food! The manager is one hell of a cook! I would definitely stay for dinner - there isn't that much around so it is good for more than one reason. Prices are good and the food is top notch. Breakfast was also great with a selection of cereals and fruit juice then cooked breakfast or bits as you like with home made jam for the toast.

I would definitely go back and would reccomend a stay to anyone as it was a lovely place to see and stay.

Stayed here on business for two nights in July 2010.

I have to say that it was a great experience. The rooms were spacious, clean and had en-suite facilities. The vies from my room were also superb.

The room also had a TV and DVD player, with a selection of films available downstairs.

The evening meal and breakfast were very tasty and the service from the hosts excellent.

The location is another positive point as its just off the main road to Builth Wells.

Wonderful 2-night stay here at the start of our 12-day trip. It was the 1st of the trip and was so lovely that we couldn't help comparing it to the others as the trip progressed!

Lovely views from the room - rolling plains with sheep and trees dotted all over against a backdrop of blue sky, simply lovely! The place was quiet - coming from the city, it was really nice for me to hear lambs baa-ing and birds calling. Room was huge with wooden beams and floor panels, giving the whole place a warm cosy feel. Ample cupboard space and space for luggage. Huge ensuite with a vintage-looking bath tub and nice toiletries.

Breakfast was good! Delicious cooked breakfast as well as juices, cereals and the home-made jam was amazing - full of peel and never seen another chunkier one ever! I later learnt that Sylvie was previously a chef ... that explains the wonderful 3-course meal we had on our first night there. Very thankful to Sylvie for waiting for our group (we got lost because we were horrible road mapsters!) and still preparing and serving the full dinner despite us being at least 2 hours late! We had dinner at 9+ and finished almost at 11pm. Most of the other B&Bs on the trip gave us only our main courses when we arrived late. Sylvie even prepared after-dinner coffee/tea to go with the dessert. There were 14 of us so it was a lot to prepare for and I really appreciate Sylvie's efforts!

Sylvie, just in case you don't know who I am, I was with Clare Russell's group ... the Singaporean Chinese lady who's always staying at the lounge area checking her emails just before you lock the doors and switch off the lights for the night.... THANKS FOR HAVING US! :)

We had lunch with a party on a beautiful day. Spectacular views and delightful garden. Sylive served us delicious canapes on the terrace with spritzers. We had two courses for lunch and although the quality was superb, the quantity offered was dire! The Sea Bass was beautifully cooked but the quantity so small that it was gone after a few mouthfuls! Ditto the accompanying vegetables. This was a pity as overall the experience was excellent.
