“Friendliest hostess anywhere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2010

Llangammarch Wells really is an isolated place and the exterior of this hotel may not offer much hope, but inside resides the friendliest, hardest working hostess anywhere on the island. She is always smiling and always willing to do whatever she can to help. The hotel itself is an old house that's a bit rickety but full of nice small touches like the fairy lights in the conservatory, the comfy couches and the honour system bar. The only downside was that the food wasn't great.

Kathryn was the "hostess with the mostess". We had a lovely family "appartment" with good sized bedroom, lounge and kitchen. The hotel grounds/gardens were enormous and lead down to a lovely river. The menu was great , cooked fabulously and complemented by some great wines. Excellent on all fronts.

We found this to be a truly lovely place. the staff were friendly yet unobtrusive and the room was ultra clean and very comfortable. The hotel has a great setting with sprawling gardens leading down to the river. I'd recommend this to anyone.

By far the best place that we've stayed at in Wales - and we do travel a great deal for both business and pleasure. Kathryn is the perfect host: charming, friendly, attentive, a great cook, and keeper of a small but fine cellar.

The hotel has been internally refurbished to a high standard and is bright, airy, stylish and welcoming.

We can't wait to go back!

We stayed here for 1 night for a family get together in the village. Owners are very welcoming and offered us a cup of tea in the lounge when we had been shown to our room.

I think the rooms have recently been refurbished, we stayed in room 2, it had a super king size bed.

Can't fault anything about the place, breakfast was great. Served in the conservatory, plenty of choices.

Having stayed here before when visiting the WRC I thought it would be a nice place to take the wife so I booked.

The owners are really friendly people who make sure they can do all they can to make your stay a memorable one from offering loads of local information to offering their maps for us to use.

The hotel itself is located in a really nice village with a friendly village pub within short walking distance which serves nice food and nice local beer but make sure you are there before 8:15pm if you want to order food.

The room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean and so was the en-suite shower room. The bed in room 4 is massive and soooo comfortable, wish I could have taken it home with me. Breakfast is included in the price and Simon cooks a mean sausage! There is loads of breakfast fare, fresh fruit, cereals, toast, coffee, tea and of course a lovely full cooked English which is all cooked fresh, you can tell its not been stuck under a hotplate for ages.

The lounge is a nice room to spend a quiet evening, there is an honesty bar with lots of choice.

We will certainly go back, the scenery around the hotel is really nice, a photographers paradise and the hotel gardens are certainly worth a wander around, its gorgeous.

Well worth a visit for a weekend or longer as there is lots to see and do.

Thanks for a fantastic weekend!

The hotel was recommended to us by friends. We received a very warm welcome on arrival; the owners have really managed to strike the right balance between a relaxed, friendly atmosphere and while delivering a great level of service. The hotel is very clean and well-kept. Our room was well-presented with an almost boutique feel to the furnishings. The bathroom contained a delightful roll-top victorian bath.

Modern TV and wi-fi available in the rooms.

The food was extremely good, with a well stocked bar and wine list. The owners were also very happy to recommend other places to eat locally. The village pub does a wide range of food.

The village and surrounding area is very pretty with lots of opportunities for walking.
