“Beautiful view - comfortable bed.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We booked in here for one night in a family room. The room was at the top of the house with a beautiful view of the cathedral and the sea beyond. It was clean and the beds were super comfy. We found the owner pleasant and chatty. The breakfast was lovely and had everything that you would expect at a B&B. Reasonably priced considering it is right in the middle of St Davids. The only down was the lack of water pressure - perhaps because we were at the top of the house?? Not sure how that could be fixed. Anyhow, it wouldn't put us off visiting again.

I got sole occupancy of a double room at the Glendower, and I imagine it would be very cramped for a couple. However, when you stay in St Davids and intend exploring the wonderful surroundings, you aren't likely to spend much time indoors. I thought the proprietor seemed a bit bossy at first, but she is actually quite pleasant and helpful. The breakfast choice is a bit limited, but provides a good start to the day. Once the guests are fed, the breakfast room serves as a small restaurant that anyone passing on the street can eat at. All in all, a fairly average sort of place pitched at a fairly low price, so it's quite acceptable.

I have been to the Glendower 5 times now. Rooms were clean, food was good, beds are comfortable and the owner is very helpful. In fact i am going back to the Glendower next weekend with friends. I would recommend this Guesthouse to my friends!

Lee.

We love St.David's & were looking forward to sharing this beautiful place with some friends. The Glendower was very disappointing, the owner wasn't very welcoming & although the rooms were clean, they were very cramped & rather 'tired' looking. Our room was at the front & very noisy through the night, the bed was uncomfortable & between that & the noise from people going home all through the night, I hardly slept at all. Breakfast was neither plentiful or tasty ~ all very greasy & poor quality food ~ cheap sausage, very salty bacon, over cooked egg (no choice other than fried) & tinned tomatoes ~ ych a fi! There was a sign saying that due to technical issues credit cards couldn't be accepted, I am reliably informed that this sign has been there some time. Our friends were from over seas & had to use up cash to pay. As we paid the same amount for our following night in a wonderful B&B just a few miles down the road, this place is overpriced & I wouldn't recommend it.

This was a disappointing night's stay on our Pembrokeshire Coast Path walk. Our host was not at all welcoming and showed us into a room that smelt of damp and was damp - even our towels didn't get dry overnight. As others have mentioned, it was all very dated and seemed unloved. The shower room was adequate but shared the feeling that everything was just being done because it had to be not because anyone wanted to make an effort.
Breakfast was rather greasy. We would not want to return.z

Mature couple walking part of the P Way. One of 9 B and B's/hotels over 11 days. One night stay. Cooked breakfast good and also good cereals and extras. However, owner had no real interest in us and room and breakfast area very dated. Bathroom very average and small with no heating. Apparently options in St Davids quite limited. However, eat at the nearby Old Cross Hotel which was very good value. Perhaps also good to stay at? Check it out.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with a heated bathroom!

Right in the town centre, we spent two nights there, the room was clean and had all you need and expect from a B&B even though it is one of the cheapest places in overpriced St. David's. Especially helpful was an electric heater in the bathroom as it rains often in that part of Wales and without which we wouldn't have dried our clothes in time. The stuff were nice and so were breakfasts.
