I've just come back from a weekend in Pembrokeshire, and have to mention the wonderful Canaston Oaks B&B. I'd booked Canaston Oaks as a surprise for my girlfriend, as it looked absolutely luxurious on their website, and I'm pleased to say that the reality didn't dissapoint.
We arrived in the afternoon, and the host Eleanor was out, but had left a note on the door to say that the key was in our room - The Alder. We wandered over, and were presented with an immaculate room. Lovely big pillows, crisp white linen sheets, a bottle of wine, fruit, and chocolates. A large widescreen TV with DVD player. Just about everything you could ever want. There were even hair straighteners which pleased my girlfriend no end!
The room itself had a private patio that looked out across fields, with a little tabel where you could enjoy a glass of wine while soaking up the country air. In the bathroom you had all the amenities you could ever want, and a lovely jacuzzi bath.
The hosts Eleanor and David were incredibly friendly, and I must mention the breakfasts. It was without a doubt the best breakfast I've had anywhere - and I've spent three years travelling for the British Foreign Office and have stayed in some very prestigious hotels. At Canaston Oaks, they cooked up a fantastic breakfast made fresh, with lovely local produce.
All in all, this is a very special place indeed. Yes, it may be a little more expensive than other B&B's in the area, but it's worth it if you want to really spoil yourself. It's also about 3 minutes from Oakwood Theme Park which is very convenient.
