Tthe location of this place is fantastic and ideal for exploring the area. Rooms are shabby and nothing special but can't really fault them for this as it's pretty clear from the website that you're not booking into the Hilton and the prices reflect this.

The big bugbear I would have with the Druidstone is the customer service which is to do with the owners rather than the staff. For some reason the owners of this place have a rather arrogant attitude and appear to feel that they are doing you a favour by letting you stay at their gaff. For this reason we did not feel particularly welcome here and would not return.

“hippy seaside hotel”

general hippy vibe, rather shabby. Supposed to be family hotel but our very well behaved children were tutted at and we were told in a rude, sarcastic manner that they should not be in the bar at 8pm. We would have had them out of there sooner but it took an hour for our bar meal to arrive!
Food - varies from ok to mediocre. Best thing about the place is the location

“Great location, basic 'brit seaside holiday' hotel”

our second trip here. Great location on a beautiful sandy beach with rockpools, waterfall, horse riding on the beach and great walks. Hotel a bit on the basic side given the cost - we paid £500 for a 2 night stay(2 adults and 2 kids) although this did include meals. They have a bar downstairs which serves good wholesome bar meals (by far the best option) and a restaurant upstairs where we ate on the first night and did not enjoy the food atall. Kid and dog friendly, although they tried to make our kids have the high tea at 6 o'clock which our children are just not into, took some persuading for them to accomodate us in the restaurant - asked for plain pasta with butter for my 8 year old and was charged £8 for a small bowl of green tagliatelle - v odd when they know you want plain spaghetti!!
Hotel was freezing and just not that comfortable - decor and general untidiness seems to push the limit of the 'querky, british seaside, famous five, forties style' holiday.
