“Far from town, ideal for short business trips not for long stays”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

The latest alternative to the Hilton Newport is a new build budget hotel, Hampton Newport a good 20 mins drive from Newport just before the Severn Bridge. Same standards as you'd find in a Holiday Inn Express brand that has only been operating. Nightly rates appear pricier on average than the Hilton Newport and the breakfast is a basic buffet. This hotel is fine is you only having the odd night away on business but for extended periods, I suspect too many home comforts would be missing.

Thank you very much for your kind words.
Enormous effort has gone into creating this new UK brand, with the aim to deliver the best Hotel experience within the focused service sector.
The key to delivering this ambition is not only to build high quality Hotels with top of the range fixtures and fittings, but to ensure the quality of the service and welcome match this aim.
When this is recognised with comments such as this my whole team are encouraged to try even harder to make every stay for our guests a great experience.
Thank you

Location of the Hotel is in the middle of nowhere, off the M4 motorway, though very convenient if you travelling to Cardiff :) but we had lovely views on motorway and fields. The room was spotless, huge queen size bed, lovely shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers, very convenient. Very bright room with huge full length mirrors. Reception staff was very polite and helpful. However the breakfast was a disappointment. As we stayed over the weekend, breakfast was between 6-10am, we came down for breakfast at 9.15am. And staff ALREADY was clearing tables!!! The food was looking overcooked and tough to taste, as it was on a hot plates for a while. The plates were side plates and way too small to fit all full English breakfast on it. It would be nice if the guests could order hot food instead of already cooked one, as B&B usually do. Coffee, if I can call it coffee, was disgusting to taste, so we were stuck with tea. Very limited continental breakfast. Staff looked very busy with clearing the tables and did not bother with the customers, discussing how would be nice to clear it all out. So basically we were rushed to finish our breakfast quick, as there was no food, no tables left to enjoy Sunday morning breakfast, very disappointing. Though in general we had a very pleasant stay, we wish breakfast experience would be more enjoyable.

Room Tip: I would advise to have breakfast outside the hotel

This was our second stay at this hotel. Bedroom and bathroom were spotless. Convenient to the M4 motorway, plenty of parking. Spacious reception. Didn't try the evening meal. Had a full breakfast in the morning, plenty of choice to suit all. Plates for the cooked breakfast were small, but you can always return for second helpings.

This was a fantastic price and easy to call in at on the way to Cardiff for the Speedway Grand Prix. I would certainly advise people to check it out. To also receive a complimentary breakfast for 3 adults all at the incredible price of £66.36. Rooms were adequate for an overnight stay, and looked new and well kept

Would highly recommend this hotel for service, staff friendliness and cleanliness, we were going to speedway at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff and found and was ideal distance just to take car in and park in morning and go to venue and return in the evening with no problems on the roads

The hotel is in an office park but is just a short drive from the cute village of Magor. We stayed just one night but found the hotel to be very clean, and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. Although the hotel is right by the motorway, our room was very quiet and we slept very well. It was the best night's sleep I had during a week's holiday staying at various hotels. When we first arrived I was a bit put off by the hotel's isolated location in an office park but the young woman on duty gave me directions to very nearby Magor (we drove but it wouldn't be a bad walk) where we had a tasty dinner at the Mango House restaurant. THe next morning we had an okay breakfast at the hotel and then set off for Tintern Abbey. We stay at Hampton Inns often in the U.S. and generally they are a reliable option...always clean and comfortable.

I was really delighted with this hotel. The staff were warm and friendly and made me feel very welcome. Check in was quick and easy and my room was large, clean and very comfortable. Although its on a business park. There was no noise from the road outside and it was in the ideal location for visiting all the local sites around the area. I stayed for two nights at the beginning of my holiday and would defintely stay here again.
