“Stunning views, excellent facilities - definately going back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2010

We caught the end of the summer sun in Anglesey; we were looking for a last minute, close to home destination by the sea and Plas Darien turned out to be an amazing find. It's location is fantastic, the views are stunning, the beaches are close by and the facilities on-site are great. We took our six month old and were able to take him daily into the indoor pool, we never had an issue booking a slot for private use. The outdoor pool is lovely too, and very well maintained. We rented a one bed apartment which, I have to say, was very dated however it was immaculate inside and had all the facilities we would require including use of a verandah. The place is well run and is under renovation in various parts (I hasten to add that we did not experience any noise from this however) and once the renovations are complete this will be a truly fantastic place. Our one-bed cost us £45 per night, which was supreme value for the facilities available. Anglesey is a lovely place to visit with lots of beauty spots and things to do, so all in all a perfect short break. Highly recommended, we will definately visit Plas Darien again.

Fab place, Fab apartment, Fab time! We were very lucky with the weather and the local area is stunning. I have stayed at Plas Darien a number of times and always found it clean & comfy even in the Big Freeze last winter! Can't wait to go back this August and get in that out door pool which my daughter also loves.

We have been staying at Plas Darien for some time now. We were pleased to see the huge amount of work that has taken place and the apartments are really superb but it is all spoilt by lack of attention to detail by the housekeeper, ie, sofa covers were filthy, TV did not work, no towel rail, nowhere to put things in the bathroom. Such a shame when they have clearly gone to a lot of expense of the buildings. Someone needs to go round and sort this out.

This is our second stay at Plas Darien. in october we stayed in the plas darien self catering apartments and this march we stayed in the cliff apartments which is on the same site and shares facillities. we have had two great holidays. The views from the aprtments are spectacular and the apartments while not luxurious are comfortable. They have good beds and heavy quilts - bliss. the two indoor pools are great and we never had a problem booking a slot. what made the holiday so great was the relaxed atmosphere. the staff are friendly and the children were welcomed- that makes a holiday in it self. You can tell when you ring up to book that everyone is going to be nice. Anglsey is breathtaking big sandy beaches or little coves take your pick. The Reed family halesowen

We have just got back from staying in Plas Darien apartments, no 38 & 28. It is an excellent location with sea views. Unfortunately the two apartments that we booked had damp problems, you could see the mould on some of the bedroom furniture and the walls. The smell was unpleasant, especially of a night trying to get to sleep. We stayed there during the bad weather, which mainly affected Cumbria, but we had our fair share of it here. High winds and torrential rain. The two front windows had rain coming in, running down to the carpets. My sister and brother, plus families, had the apartment below us on the ground floor (38), they had worse damp problems than us. They had to use the bowl from the kitchen to catch the water in and part of the wall disintergrated when my brother in law put his hand on the wall to balance himself, to stop himself from slipping on the wet. They found the smell of the damp unpleasant. We arrived there when it was dry and sunny, but as soon as you entered the apartments it was apparent there were damp problems, because of the smell and mould. Having said that we will be booking next year for a winter break. Friends of ours had two other apartments, both of those were lovely, with no damp problems. I was told that no's 38, 28 and 27 all had damp problems, so when we book again we won't be booking any of those apartments. It is in a lovely area and has nice views. Because of the bad weather we couldn't explore the area very well, but what we managed to see was excellent. There is a lot of work going on at the moment at Plas Darien, that includes the games room and the reception area, so don't be to surprised when you get there. We loved the indoor pool area's, which you prebook for your party at reception. Looking forward to next years winter break, but in different appartments.

We have been going to Plas Darien for about 23 years and yes some for the cottages are getting very tired looking but they do appear to be doing them up. ~There is no getting away from the place has a unique feel and we have had many good holiday there and my children still go back and now so do my grandchilden we went also with there grandparents I liked the old pool but the new pools are good and in the winter months you cant beat those winter breaks. it by the sea it gets a battering they have spent a lot on money on it give them a chance, when you pay your money you do expect good standard when you tell them your not happy they do help I have had reason to complain lately but they have always sorted problem out. Most of the apartments are very good and all with sea views
