We have eaten twice here in the last month. Both times the food was absolutely wonderful. Just 3 of us went the first time, i had slow cooked pork belly, i've never had the same dish cooked better, it was un-believably tender and flavoursome. Our little one had spaghetti bolognaise, big full bowl and very tasy. We then shared the trio of desserts, which if i was being constructivley cricitcal, i would have liked the 3rd pudding to be maybe something chocolatey, as the two with meringue are very similar. The service is always good, not excellent but its the start of the season so perhaps that has a little to do with it? The waitresses seem a little unsure and at times un friendly, more smiles/small talk would definately make the experience more pleasant. We then returned on mothers day, booked for a table of 12. All of our meals were superb, the childrens meals mostly came before ours, which i don't think is a bad thing. The adults came though mostly together. We all had sunday lunch, the meat was generous and again, very well cooked, roast potatoes were better than mine too! Pudding wise, I didn't think the chocolate linguine worked and i think maybe the pudding menu could be re thought. I stole a bit of someones crumble though and that was good. Overall this place is fantastic, it's light, airy and looks the part. I'd tighten up on the waiting staffs performance and cut down on the specials menu, it's enourmous and must cause stress in the kitchen. Maybe they could be persuaded to have a set specials menu with a choice of 3 starters, mains & puds ? just a suggestion. Enough of the ramble, go and try it and support a local cause. Can't wait for our non existant summer so that we can enjoy the balcony!
