“Lack of butterflies!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

We had an ok time, we were only in there for 30 mins, we only saw 3-5 butterflies maximum despite looking everywhere! Was impressed with amount of other animals there, However as a reptile keeper myself i was not best pleased to see how they were keeping some of the snakes, too large of enclosures(not always good to have big enclosures for snakes) , with no hides, most without water! some temperatures were wrong and species being kept together is also not recommended with some of the snakes. Poor husbandry. Despite this the reptiles did seem in good condition, but a little more care to the hides and water situation would be good.
We were going to go into the cafe but it was full, seemed small for the amount of visitors, same for the parking, we struggled to park with such a small car park.
I think it is very overpriced for what it is, i have been going since i was a child, but i don't think i will be returning again now, too expensive and not enough to do and see that reflects the price tag.

“Great for young and old...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

Our party was made up of 3 senior citizens, 1 in wheelchair, 2 adults and 2 under 3's and cost was about £43 which might have seemed a bit pricey but we found a lot of different things for us all to enjoy. That isn't always the case at other places. Great wildlife to view from the secluded hide on the nature trail, lovely picnic area and adventure play area with a zip wire for any older ones up to 16 (not adults unfortunately but we had a go on the big bouncy castle in another part!) Plenty of exotic animals, interactive bug area to get older ones involved. We made use of very clean soft play area and cafes - very reasonably priced refreshments. We stayed hours and enjoyed the sun and shade! Worth a trip out with the family to keep everyone entertained. :-)

“OK - but pricey”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2013

Two adults and one child - £22. We were out in an hour. Butterfly house is cool. Snake house is quite vast. You see some animals outside (pigs, sheep, meerkats) and then a playground. Not worth the money but a good solution for what to do in North Wales on a not-so-sunny day.

“Very good for kids, loads more animals than I had expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 11, 2013

First things first, price very reasonable.

Seen a review where someone complained there was not much butterflies there, we literally had to duck and swerve them as there were so many flying about.

There are birds, spiders, snakes, lizards, insects, frogs, fish.

There is also a petting farm where there were Guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs and Shetland sheep.

My sons favorite though were the meerkats.

There was a reasonably priced cafe there but we did not eat there.

There are 2 outdoor play areas with a picnic area and 1 soft play area where parents can have a coffee while the kids play.

A good day out, highly recommended especially for children under 10

“So good, we visited twice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2013

We were 50/50 about visiting after talking to a lady previously who said it was only an hours visit.

We arrived and paid for the 4 of us and were told that our tickets were valid for the rest of the week. With our preschooler and toddler it was a full afternoon, exploring the various areas, following the nature trail and playing in the numerous play areas. Come home time we were informed that there were no schools booked in the following day so if we wanted to come and handle some of the animals then that would be a good day to call again.

The following day, after many request from our 4yo, we decided to go again and I'm glad we did! The extremely helpful staff let us get up close and personal with snakes, rabbits, guinea pigs, various giant insects and stick insects.

The giant bouncy castle was great fun, as were the indoor and outdoor play areas and we had a nice coffee and cake while watching the merecats play.

Our only slight criticism was they were fairly low on stock of icecreams, but with the decision making abilities of my kids that was a blessing in disguise.

Well worth a visit
