“Wonderful views - Excellent value - Very friendly service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2009

I agree almost entirely with kirstysbooth's comments. The views are wonderful, the owner is very friendly and the service is excellent. As soon as we parked the car, the owner came out to welcome us and help us with our luggage. We were brought a tray with tea and coffee and bisquits to enjoy out in the garden (and we didn't have to pay for it); it seems to be part of the welcoming service. Guests seem to share a high opinion of the service received. This is repeteadly expressed in the visitor's book. In fact, many guest seem to return time and time again. We will certainly do.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2008

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for one night in January while we were visiting relatives. The hotel looks out onto the bay and if you can get a front facing bedroom, the views are well worth it (they don't cost anything extra but you will have to request one well in advance). Our room was clean, light and airy, The decor was neutral and there were floral prints on the walls. The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows and an extra duvet. There were excellent tea and coffee making facilities with a wide choice of beverages including 3 types of normal tea, an assortment of herbal and fruit tea, hot chocolate and normal and decaff coffee.
My only complaint about the room was the size of the en-suite which was tiny!!! it was adequate with toilet, shower and sink and lots of clean towels but it was so small!
The owner was very polite and helpful, she gave us a full tour of the hotel which included the lounge, dining room and communal bath room (literally a bath in a room in case you didn't want a shower).
A full breakfast is included in the price and I strongly recommend you set your alarm (its served between 8-9) You start out with either juice, grapefruit or prunes, followed by cereal or kippers, then a full breakfast, toast and preserves and tea or coffee. The menu is adaptable so if you are vegetarian like me you can opt for extra egg, hash browns etc instead of bacon and sausage. The food is fantastic and the staff are attentive and efficient.

  • Liked — Excellent Food and Tea & Coffee Making Facilities
  • Disliked — Tiny En-suite & Lumpy Pillows
