“An EXCELLENT FAMILY BEACH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

On a sunny day, the beach is full of families as it is very child friendly with gently sloping sand; children are very safe in the sea. The sand is what I would call gold, ideal for sandcastles. Dogs are not allowed on the beach during the holiday period. The ice-cream kiosk is one of the best and cheapest in the area. Toilets are in the car park adjacent to the Cafe near the kiosk; have not been to this Cafe. Have been to the Bay Cafe at the other end of the promenade, superb food and reasonably priced. When the tide is out we love to walk around the rocks and headland to Red Wharf Bay, have a light bite or drink at either the Ship Inn or The Old Boathouse. Do not worry if the tide is coming in as you can return via the superb Anglesey Coastal Path.

“Beautiful bay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Lovely sandy clean beach with a couple of Cafes and Ice cream sellers close to hand without making it too commercial. Very clean safe shallow water the only problem is most of the beach does disappear at high tide. Sections of the beach are No dogs but there are plenty of areas where dogs are allowed. Good parking and public conveniences close to hand.

“Don't bring a barbeque!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

We visited for the day whilst staying nearby.
Arrived early and got a great parking spot nearby and also a great spot on the beach.
Nice clean beach, family friendly with toilet and refreshments nearby.
As the day went on, it got busier and busier. Obviously the tide came in and the few people who had brought bbq's were almost knee deep in water waiting for their sausages to cook!!

“Dogs Allowed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

We visited here with our dog and followed the instructions about walking along the cliff side of the beach to the designated area for dogs. I don't know why some people think dogs aren't allowed! The beach is lovely, long and sandy and plenty of space for both dog lovers and dog haters to coexist and enjoy. We also walked part of the Anglesey Coastal Path up on the cliff side, which was nice. There was entertainment on for the kids in the no dogs allowed part of the beach, opposite the information point, so I can only assume that the ban on dogs in this area was an issue for some and they failed to appreciate the rest of the beach.
