Not much to say, but an enjoyable night, had hog roast which was served in a room next to the ballroom, the plates were cleared quickly enough and the empty glasses when they could. Can't comment much as I only saw the bar staff and some in reception. But would recommend for events as its a big room in a nice location. Dj must stop playing at around 12 as they have other guests staying of course.

this was our second visit. The first time I was working in Bangor and my partner came with me. He loved the hotel as it is situated in the middle of the town with easy access.. This time we decided to have a mid week break. Our room was very comfotable and nicely decorated. Breakfast is self service with lots of choice and replenshed when needed. Had a meal in the Bistro which was very, very good. One of the best steaks I have had in ages. No need for a steak knife as it was so tender. I thought it was excellent value fo money.

Just onecomplaint - checkout -no pleasentries at all - no 'did you enjoy your atay' or any conversation. just handed me the bill. not even a thank you. As I stay in hotels for work at least three nights a week and in most instances reception do ask or say something when you check out this was rather disapointing.

Room Tip: Get a sea view room = well worth a bit extra

A hotel with a great position overlooking the sea and mountains. It backs on to the high street and all the shops and bistros. A short walk to Beaumaris castle. the rooms are a good size and well appointed. Friendly staff and good food.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the water

I love Beaumaris and we had a lovely visit there recently . The Bulkeley hotel is marvellously situated with views to die for but that is all . The hotel is dated and shabby . Initial impressions poor We came in the back door the disabled ramp is an eyesore it hadn't been finished off properly . The room was at the front beautiful views it wad warm and clean . The bathroom was disappointing no shower very old fashioned . The hotel has so much potential it needs heaps of money throwing at it . Staff were friendly breakfast adequate . Reception area very unwelcoming just looked tired and in need of a massive investment

just arrived back from bank holiday weekend at the Bulkeley hotel i had so wanted to believe the good reviews and hoped the negative ones were being a bit harsh, however it wasn't to be the whole place was so dated ,the room number 216 was out of the 1970's, it was a very windy weekend and the sash windows rattled very badly (we used the free coffee sachets to wedge them tight,) the shower dribbled from only a third of the shower head holes, it was virtually impossible to shower .the toilet door didn't fit the door hole and had to be kept open ie no privacy the toilet didn't flush properly , the pipes banged through out the night, and we never got to park in the hotel car park, on the plus side the staff were very friendly and helpful the breakfast was excellent would i recommend this hotel no... would i go back ....no

The staff in the Bistro were extremely helpful and showed initiative. We visited Beaumaris on a Sunday which is not the best time in rural North Wales to find places open. The Restaurant was fully booked but we were there at six and the staff said "well, we have a table coming in at 7:30 so i'm not sure that would give you time I'm afraid". We only wanted a main course so that suited us fine, we finished by 7:15 and had a coffee in the lounge so they could get the table ready, but that was our choice - at no time did they make us feel rushed and any other request such as no butter on the vegetables was met with a calm "of course".

The food was well cooked and well presented, they clearly try and liven things up a little by serving chips in mini fry-baskets and fish on slates, which shows they are trying to be a bit different and making an effort not to serve standard hotel fayre.

Last minute decision to have a night away, looked good on line. No problems finding hotel and parking available. Mixed views overall. Bad points - room very old fashioned, shower trickled then stopped half way through shower in morning so only one of us managed half a shower. The bathroom suite was lime green, very dated, tv so far away from bed couldn't see it or move it. No fridge. We ate in restaurant at night, I had salmon, partner has cod, both ok but really bland. view from room was terrible, old bin bags in a courtyard with broken plant pots, a real mess, old matress and not comfortable. Told staff when we checked out, didnt seem over interested, just asked us which room it was. On the plus side, the staff were all really nice, breakfast was ok, clean room, bedding and towels all fine. Location really good. Double room cose £105 which I didn't think was value for money. Could be so much better, shame really.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view, we didn't as we were told it might be noisy as there was a wedding on.
