“Exquisite farmhouse B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

The somewhat lengthy drive down the farm track was more than compensated for by the tranquil, rural setting and the pleasing sight of the large farmhouse that we parked alongside on our arrival. We were warmly greeted by the very friendly proprietor (and farmer's wife), Annwen. My beloved, her mother and I were shown to our rooms and left to decide who wanted which room. Both were double rooms, with the one just having single person occupancy for us, as there were no single rooms. Both rooms were very large, clean and tastefully decorated to the highest standard. Both rooms had a large en-suite with absolutely fantastic power showers – quite the best bathroom (and shower) that I’ve ever seen in a B & B (or hotel, for that matter). There was a T.V. as well as tea and coffee making facilities in the room (we were offered fresh milk on our arrival rather than the usual UHT stuff). A folder telling us about the farm, local attractions and places to eat (complete with menus) was a nice, and very useful, touch. The (king-sized) bed was comfortable and extra bedclothes (which we didn't need) were available in the large wardrobes.

The breakfast was the best I have ever eaten in a B & B (and I have stayed in many)!!! There was a choice of cereals, prunes, grapefruit segments, fruit juice, fresh fruit and yoghurt to start with. Orders for the cooked breakfast were taken – on each of the three mornings I opted for the full breakfast, which consisted of a couple of rashers of bacon (from the local butcher), scrambled egg (from the farm), a sausage (also from the local butcher), mushrooms, tomato, fried bread, black pudding and baked beans – all of which was perfectly cooked. All this was accompanied by toast (brown and /or white bread) and as much tea or coffee as we wanted. Annwen was always congenial and attentive but never intrusive – her local knowledge and information that she shared with us was most helpful. On the last morning, we had the pleasure of being served by her delightful, young daughter. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome in this beautiful family home. Perhaps, the over-riding thing that made our stay so special was the attention to detail in all aspects – from the décor, the standard of equipment and fittings, to the extra little touches at breakfast. Having stayed at many B & B's in the past, I can confidently say that none have been better than this one – the whole experience was truly exquisite!!!

Stayed with 2 friends in the large family room. Plenty of space and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Real family home on a working farm which was new! About 5 = 10 mins drive from Beaumaris. Would recommend it.

This was our 8th visit to Cremlyn with either friends or family. It is a idllyic location which is very peaceful and has fabulous scenery.Annwen and her family are always very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble for them , they always try to accomodate you if you require anything. All the bedrooms, in which we have stayed have been very clean, warm and cosy, each with plenty of fresh clean towels , toiletries and tea and coffee facilities. We all look forward to the fresh breakfasts each morning as these seem to set us up for the day, Ther are lots of places to visit and is the perfect place to stay for either a short or long break. I have recommeneded the farmhouse to many of my friends as an idealplace to stay. We all look forward to our next visit in August this year as there are more places we would like to visit both new and old.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012

Convienient location if you have a car - it is a 5-10 minute drive to Beumaris. This is a very small B&B with 3 rooms.

I was disappointed by certain aspects, given the price (£85 per night for 2 adults and one 3 year old) for the following reasons:
- the website promised an "excellent breakfast" - I requested scrambled eggs on toast with mushrooms on the side (not even a full breakfast!) and I got the scrambled egg with ONE mushroom! Limited spread - Selection of regular cereals with 3 pots of Onken yoghurt - I was expecting more local produce - jams/ preserves etc.
- the website states that there is a children's play area - there were 2 swings - again didn't deliver to expectations
- lacked attention to detail - we ran out of toilet paper (only one roll provided), bathroom bin wasn't lined the second day (despite us taking the rubbish out on the first day), the room had only one bathrobe, towels were provided only for two people (none for the child!) despite charging for the additional person.

On the plus side:
- Newly refurbished, clean bathroom
- Clean fresh bath towels and linen (they are often smelly in hotels!)
- Breakfast served in quaint traditional English China
- Well maintained room
- Access to separate cozy common lounge
- Friendly hostess
- Idyllic setting - woke up to see the sheep grazing!

Room Tip: Request the room with the bath with overhead shower if you are staying with family,
