“Fabulous B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2008

Jenny and Colin run this wonderful little Bed & Breakfast in Amlwch up on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey. We were a little apprehensive at first as the exterior of the property belies what is within but we were bowled over by ALL of it once we crossed the doorstep!

From the moment we pulled up outside we were greeted warmly by Jenny who proceeded to explain everything to us. Every comfort and assistance was offered. She could not have been more courteous or helpful, right down to the offer of fresh milk for our drinks in the room - provided in a little thermos flask.

Our room, "The Skerries", was beautifully and recently decorated to a very high standard, and every convenience had been thought of. There was a flat screen TV with built in DVD player, kettle with tea and coffee making facilities (and some chocolates and things in case you're peckish), an extremely comfortable double bed with lovely cushions and pillows, two occasional chairs, dressing robes and slippers, a clock radio, a hairdryer, and everything was absolutely spotless and in complete working order. When I say spotless and clean, believe me, I mean it. Jenny takes great pride in this and my wife and I are VERY fussy and were impressed!! About the only thing we could think of that was missing was FreeView on the TV but I dare say that will soon be rectified!

For dinner on the night, we booked a table at the Ship Inn, at Red Wharf Bay, really good food and drink on the harbour -but worth booking a table. About 20 minutes drive from Pen Y Cefn but well worth it!! :)

The next morning saw us enjoying a full Welsh breakfast cooked by Colin (in full chef-garb) and cereal with fruit juices and toast (and very wonderful coffee!).

All in all - can't recommend this B&B highly enough!! Thanks Jenny and Colin, such friendly, wonderful hosts.

What a pleasure to have such wonderful guests stay with us and how nice to know that our work is so appreciated.
Sorry about the Freeview, we shall install it just as soon as our part of Wales gets it next year.
