We have stayed at The George on a few occasions as it is an ideal base for some lovely walks and it has a fantastic location, the rooms are nicely furnished, with comfy beds, but bathrooms are a little dated although clean and tidy, the plumbing does need to be improved though as in the evening the shower pressure is poor and there is a lack of hot water, on our first stay we had no hot water at all in the evening, we made staff aware but we think that this may be a regular occurance, as there was no attempt to explain or rectify the problem. there seems to be no real organisation or management, the staff are friendly with their own take on customer service,"they will get round to it eventually". The food is very good but be prepared to wait a while as service is slow, whilst not a problem for us as we weren't in rush, be warned a three course evening meal will take a long time! If you are looking for a relaxed break in a great setting with good pub food, and your not in a rush, then I would recomend it but if you like efficient attentive service then it's not for you. However we found the experience very enjoyable and somewhat amusing, we will return,
