“Beautiful in the Autumn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

A beautiful walk with the most fabulous views. Small museum and areas of historical interest. Keep a look out for the signs for this beautiful area as they could be easily missed. The car park was a good size although we were the only people visiting at this time, 11-ish on a Sunday.

“In good weather, a great view of Monmouth!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

The view across Monmouth from Kymin Hill is well worth the extra hour's walking at the end of the first stage of Offa's Dyke part - or at the beginning of the last stage... The round tower cafe was shut by the time we arrived but it is a good place to sit down anyway.

“The near mountain.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

At over 800 feet, is a few feet from being a mountain. Super views to Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons and Wye and Monnow valleys.. Famous monument to Nelson, who obtained oak for his ships from this area of the Forest of Dean. Do make the climb. Round House at the summit.

“Fantastic Little Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

Well off the beaten track, but well worth the visit once you get to the top. The views are fantastic, although it wasn't such a good day today as it was hazy. There isn't a lot to see on the round house, but there is a woodland walk and can you can book an event here. They do a lovely cup of tea and piece of cake. You can see the round house, when you are in Monmouth.

“National Trust and the best view for 20 miles”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

It is off the beaten track but irrespective of weather or time of year a visit to the Kymin will repay the effort 10 fold. The views are simply breathtaking - 6 counties on a clear day, and for some of the spring, summer and early autumn at the weekend and on Mondays the National Trust banqueting room is open. This tiny property with its kitchen and dining room combined within a pepper pot tower is perfectly enchanting and encapsulates a little of the history of the local gentry towards the end of the Georgian period. Close by is the unique Naval Temple visited by Horatio Nelson a short time after it was completed. The structure has recently enjoyed a sensitive and very expensive renovation programme. This building is open throughout the year.
