“Very friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

WE spent 2 nights here and found the owner Julie and other staff very friendly. On our arrival on a very hot day we were offered tea/coffee on the patio. The place is very clean and the breakfasts
are excellent. The location is walking distance from the castle/prom and restaurants. I would definitely recommend.

We spent 2 days here and found the owner Julie very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were stylish and clean and the breakfast well cooked. We can't praise this Hotel highly enough.Julie recommended places to have an evening meal and we found both excellent. The area has lots to do and we would certainly stay at this Hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose a sea view room where you can see both the sea and the castle

Just returned from a couple of days break in this wonderful hotel. We stayed here a few years ago and it was outstanding then, hence our return. Glyn-y-Coed is on the main road, plenty of parking and within easy walking distance of the shops, beautiful promenade and restaurants.

The hotel is tastefully decorated throughout, the dining room and lounge are light and bright and there are tables and chairs in the front garden to enjoy some outside space. Our room was spacious and comfortable (room 7) on the top floor, tastefully decorated with a good bathroom including bath and shower, with a great selection of toiletries. This hotel is spotlessly clean throughout.

The breakfast is superb with a large selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt and to follow a substantial cooked breakfast with as much toast as you would like together with jams and marmalade.

Julie, the owner, makes you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you Julie for a lovely stay.

If you have never visited this part of Wales before, you don't know what you are missing. Criccieth is a beautiful town and the surrounding areas are stunning. We were blessed with fantastic weather.

Don't hesitate book now!

Room Tip: Our room was at the front of the hotel so there is some passing traffic noise, if you are a light sl...

After a looking for somewhere to stay in the area we found this quaint place. We hadn't booked but were greeted with open arms and a beaming smile and a very much welcomed 'please come in'.
Our room was beautiful and so was the service. Fantastic breakfast with locally sourced produce (much needed after a night in the town).
Can't sing the praises of the owner and her husband (whom I had a natter to about bikes).
We will be coming again. Thank you so much. Didn't want to leave this morning.

My fiancé and I visited Criccieth for two days and stayed at Glyn y Coed Hotel for both nights. It was easy to find, great location and good amount of parking.

The decoration throughout the entire property was fresh, lively and seemed very new, I loved it!

We were offered a pot of tea or coffee on arrival in the lounge which was really nice and we were able to meet other guests that had arrived at the same time.

Our room was a good size, had a sea view and uninterrupted view of the castle, in short the view was amazing!

We were in room number 10 at the top of the house and it was just lovely, very clean, modern and it actually felt like a home away from home. The ensuite bathroom was very clean and well decorated, not my chose of colours but still lovely. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch as I had forgotten my bubble bath.

The breakfast was served between 8.15 and 9.15 am which is a little early for me as I'm not a morning person, but it was cooked fresh and there was an extensive selection of breakfast cereals and fruit. The toast was great as it was a nice selection of breads rather than just simply white or wholemeal.

The free wifi was great and something that we looked for when comparing other places to stay.

The only downside for me was the brightness of the room in the morning it was just too bright, I feel it needs blackout curtains, but again this is a personal choice.

If you want to stay here give them a ring direct for the best deals!

Room Tip: Call them direct for the best deals. The front of the house has a little noise from the road but am...

A group of 6 of us of mixed ages stayed here for two nights as part of a golfing trip to North Wales. Finding any establishment with 3 twin rooms available was always going to be difficult, but Glyn-y-Coed was able to let us have two twins and the family room, which was ideal. Having expected the location to be slightly off the beaten path, we were pleasantly surprised to find a lovely small town with plenty of places to eat. The B&B is fantastic - on the main road yet quiet, ample parking, a short walk into town and close to the beach. We received a fantastic welcome from Julie, who showed us to the rooms and then made us a large pot of tea on arrival in the lounge which we enjoyed on the comfy sofas looking out towards the sea. The whole place is extremely clean and well maintained; the rooms were well furnished with comfortable beds and hot showers; and the service was excellent throughout the whole stay. We had an early start on the final day of our trip and Julie kindly agreed to provide us with breakfast early so we could get on the road, which was very helpful and accommodating. Overall this is a great little B&B that is excellent value for money and somewhere that we would all definitely return to.

Warm welcome, fresh décor, super home-made food and lots of ideas for a grand day out. Our small group stayed in rooms 2 and 8 - very clean and comfortable. Pot of tea on arrival started a great break. Well done Julie and Karen - we'll return.

Room Tip: All have been recently decorated - nothing to chose between them.
