“noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2010

Thankfully only stayed 1 night only , was very noisy we had a seaview room , and the bar in the hotel was open late hence you could hear people drinking , shouting and talking loudly while trying to sleep..
The rooms were disapointing , small and bed was very uncomfortable , walls paper thin could hear the guy snoring next room to us , wouldnt visit again.

We stayed here recently and found the place very comfortable. There are excellent views from most rooms of the gorgeous Prestatyn beaches. The rooms are functional and clean, the bed we used was very comfy.
The en suite was shining and the shower was very powerful.
However we have a couple of minor niggles...
The bar staff seemed to vanish from time to time leaving quite a few people waiting, after speaking to one of the bar staff i learned that they have other duties as well. Some dedicated staff purely assigned to the bar would be a good idea. Also the menus are not displayed very well. I had to ask for the bar menu which for some reason are kept behind the bar. Also the restaurant menu has to be obtained from the reception, again these should be displayed more prominently in my opinion.
The wifi seemed to be unobtainable in our room, but could be accessed ok in the bar area.
Apart from these issues our experience was a most relaxing one.
We will definitely return next year.

I stayed at the Beaches for one night with four other members of my family., including two teenagers. We had a family interconnecting room, and a single room. Lets just say that the pictures of rooms you see on the website do not represent the size of the rooms at all. Hardly big enough to swing a cat more like. The rooms were clean, excpet the toilet pan that could of done with a damn good clean. The noise from around about the other rooms and the road outside was quite bad, and as the blind didn't close properly we had a lot of light shining in.
Food was quite nice, but only gripe was not a lot of choice for the teenagers. Had a drink in the promenade bar, but coffee is out of a machine in paper cups. Had a swim in the pool, and jacuzzi was nice.
The hotel is in a nice position by the beach, but to the other side is a view of the whole pontins camp!
Don't think I would stay again

Just returned from a four day stay at the "Beaches Hotel" and we found its plus points were a lot higher than the negatives. Although it is a bit out of the town the location is still in a great position overlooking the sea, the rear entrance even backs onto the beach. An earlier reviewer mentioned the parking was shared with Pontins which is next door this did worry us a bit when booking thinking limited spaces!, but while there there was plenty of parking Pontins seemed to have their own parking further down. It looks recently money has been spent on the hotel because all the carpets looked newish and the place in general was and fresh and clean. I did use the indoor pool twice which was excellent with the steam and Sauna working fine. I think this hotel survives from large weekend wedding receptions because while we were there it was very quiet on average half a dozen sitting for the evening meal and a dozen for breakfast no problem if you want a rest and to chill. Myself I enjoy a cooked breakfast which was cooked to order with plenty of choice but if fried food is not your scene then there was only toast and jam after your cereal and fruit juice, for the amount of people (6) for evening meals in the dining room the service was appalling 11/2 hours seems they try and serve bar food from the same kitchen with not enough cooking staff. Our other two negatives about the place the TV in our room did not work and seemed to be an ongoing problem with some of the rooms because they could not fix ours when we told them. Also they should get another butcher one night we had steak £5 each extra on our bill it was so tough we left most of it, and then last evening we had lamb chops would you believe in Wales of all places and they were tougher than the steak we had left the night before. All in All these are small complaints and can be fixed easily so we would still recommend staying here. Nearly forgot the hotels main plus the staff are so nice and friendly cannot do enough for you.

Stayed just for one night-arranged last minute over the Bank Hol weekend.Unlike a previous reviewer found the car park without a problem-sign on the entrance clearly stating that there was a charge for non residents?
Couldn't get in to the room on arrival as not yet 2.00pm! Managed to upgrade to last avail sea-view room and was well impressed when we returned at 5.00pm! Rooms modest but spotless and the view quite splendid!
Had a swim in the warmest pool I'd ever come across-yes changing rooms cramped, but no real problem as few other users.
Evening meal and Breakfast both very good-service excellent! Pleasant bar area overlooking the sea ideal for afterdinner drinks.
My only concern would be the fact that if you wanted to dine elsewhere or even have a drink in different surroundings a taxi ride would be required as absolutely nothing else in nearby vicinity!

OK...firstly I will admit that the hotel's website leaves a LOT to be desired. It is hard to believe, looking at it that it is only a 3*...all becomes clear when you actually get there.

The rooms we see on the site are the suites in the hotel that are FAR more expensive than the rooms we are all likely to book.

The rooms themselves are small but clean and the beds are comfortable, the linen crisp and fresh. The bathrooms are spotless with lots of towels and some freebies, (unexpected for a three star!).

I say ROOMS plural because we were given choices when we requested to upgrade to sea view. We saw six rooms in total.

The pool is warm - but - ahem - dirty. The filters are black and need a good scrubbing - sad really becasue the water looked clean. The shower area had muck in it but ther sauna and stream room were fine and dandy. The jacuzzi in ther pool was an additional bonus.

The real plus at the hotel was the food. The food was DELICIOUS and though the menu is very limited ( a choice fo four items on each of the three courses) - it is a GOOD selection and we were often spoilt for choice. The portion control was dubious on the first night - but on request, they brouiht more vegetables. The desert was a generous serving too. Big thumbs up to the chef - the second night we had a lamb shank and it was PERFECT.

The staff were some of the most accomodating I've ever come across. Friendly, warm and helpful. I cannot pinpoint any member of staff who was unhelpful, reserved or grumpy.

Also worth mentioning is the second day, I had the do not disturb sign on my door and housekeeping left me a bumper bag of fresh towels etc - a touch I am always gratefukl for.

The sea views are stunning - the surrounding tranquil and it really is a very good location to expliore North Wales from.

Forget all of ther stereotype horror stories you hear about Prestatyn - they mean very little here. Bear in mind it is a three star hotel - but all of the important stuff is there - clean, good value, great staff and good food.

I'd definitely go back without hesitation.

Flat screen TVs with access to all of your usual Freeview channels.
