This is a 100 year old stone house, situated on a high hill. Front rooms have an amazing view overlooking Harlech castle and Tremadog Bay. Fresh, bright, immaculate rooms, with plush beds covered with thick down comforters. Towel warmers are in the bathrooms. It is just a 5 minute walk to the center of town and to the castle. Our hosts, Bridget and Derek, were friendly and energetic. Breakfast choices were plentiful, including a full Welsh Breakfast (sausage, bacon, baked beans, tomatoes, black pudding, toast, mushrooms, eggs), scrambled eggs with salmon, porridge, fruit, yogurt, juice, Bara Bryth (a Welsh fruitbread), cereals, etc. Derek is a talented artist, and their home is full of artwork.
We also enjoyed eating dinners at the Castle Restaurant (across a small parking lot in front of the castle) in Harlech.... well prepared food, friendly service, moderate prices, and nice decor.
