“Excellent food reasonably priced”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

We had intended to have lunch at the nearby pub but got there too late (we hadn't known that they stop serving at 2.30pm on a Saturday). A customer at the pub told us about the cafe and after initial disappointment at the further half mile walk (we'd already done nearly 12 miles that morning) all eight of us were delighted at the choice, quality and freshness of the food. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food came quickly. Would very happily return

Stopped here for a late lunch and sat outside in the sun. The food was excellent - all fresh and tasty. The service was very friendly. Look forward to stopping here again.

“mountain retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013

Used this cafe before and after mountain walking around Capel Curig. It is well placed for any of the more popular climbs in Snowdonia, the place is clean and comfortable with a 'walk of the day', and other information about the area dotted around the cafe.
The food was good especially the Pear Cake, in an unhurried atmosphere; there is car parking, outside seating, and a taster of Moel Siabod on the doorstep.

“Surprisingly the food out did the atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

I knew the weather was due to take a turn for the worse so i packed up my tent before breakfast and headed on over to this place (sure enough the wind really did begin to pick up). Upon scouring the menu my first impression was that it was a bit pricey for a greasy spoon so perhaps the food was a little more than that. I had the 'Siabod Special' which was a french toast dipped in egg and fried with a few rashers of local bacon and maple syrup and a pot of tea, which came to £6. Was worth every penny though the toast or eggy bread as it's known where i'm from was perfect not at all greasy and there was no fat on the bacon. Only downfall i think is the table arrangement seems a little sporadic which somehow changes the atmosphere in my opinion. But worth a visit and they do pack lunches for those embarking on a trek up siabod itself (again well worth doing if your into that kind of thing. I'm sure i'll call in again on my travels ! ohh free wifi too which is nice for uploading snaps in a country that doesn't understand the concept of 3g yet :)
