Visited Sunday just before midday. Once we had paid and reached the top of the zoo, which held stunning views of various cities and mountains in the distance we passed a few different animals before arriving at the peguin enclosure just in time for the penguin parade :).
Once that was over we went to the sea lion talk. Decided to skip the chimpanzee talk though as we were on the otherside of the zoo. Talks we seen though were really interesting and the animals had been taught and behaved/performed well.
The zoo is home to a lot of interesting animals. Favourites of mine had to be the red pandas who where very active! (Unlike those at Chester zoo) the zoo also has a few seal pups which they are holding in a "rescue center" until they can be placed back into the wild. The seals were tiny and adorable!
Got round the zoo and seen everything in about 3 hours which wasn't too bad considering it's up and down hill!
Only part of the visit which was a let down was the cafe near the penguins. Queue was to the door and waiting time in the queue was about 10/15 minutes due to one woman serving, operating the till and making the hot drinks! Certain crisps on the stand were out of date & once at the till they were out of change. (£1s & 50ps)
And that's the middle of February. Dread to think what it's like during summer.
Would definitely return again soon. Probably take a picnic next time though.
