We've stayed twice here and it's great to see a hotel thriving both on the local and visitor trade. Great bar with good atmos, lovely bistro restaurant, and super clean and stylish rooms. A destination hotel with chance of a great sunset if you're lucky. Well worth the journey to the west coast. We'll be back!

The hotel and restaurant are very good, everyone friendly and helpful and the location is superb.
The basic issue is the owners need to decide if they want an up market boutique hotel (which is what they are charging for!) or a bustling noisy lads and ladettes harbour bar - at the moment the two clash awfully. When staying at a hotel a pre dinner drink should always be a relaxing pleasure - no chance here as from 5pm til 11/11.30 the bar is a zoo, packed out, very noisy and spills out onto the harbour front - good luck if you are staying in one of the front rooms and want to sleep before midnight - there will be a party going on right under your window!
We really did like the hotel and food but the overall experience was impacted by the above issue - If we return it will be off season and mid week.

This hotel is, as I put in my title, a hidden gem in the depths of west Wales. There is absolutely nothing here that can be faulted from the wonderfully warm reception you receive when you arrive to the cleanliness and layout of the gorgeous room (Oronsa), not forgetting of course the amazingly fresh home-cooked food.

We've rebooked for next year!

This place is busy and popular, but doesn't really warrant that, other than having a good vibe. The food is average, and the whole experience is very expensive. If you have starters and wine don't expect much change from £100. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the owner guy is nice too, but the food is what it's all about really, and this is average at best.

some friends who live in the area took us to the harbourmaster for supper, the taste of the food was lovely, it was however cold and when we very politely complained the manager was extremely rude, to top it all we bought an expensive bottle of wine, the waitress brought us the wrong one and then when we paid the bill even though we were not after a price reduction we were offered no gesture. very disappointing

Visited Aberaeron on many occasions but this time had Sunday Lunch at The Harbourmaster Hotel.

Fine setting and decor within and an extremely pleasant roast beef sunday lunch which was well presented with the yorkshire crowning the lunch. Follwed by an equally pleasant desert.

Not particulary cheap but well worth the vist and would return in the future

We visited with friends who are virtual regulars, having visited yearly for 9 years. They were not exagerrating how good the place was. Our room was so comfortable, it was positioned on 1st floor just above the restaurant - the view over the harbour was stunning. Staff were friendly and informatitive. Food was excellent both for breakfast and dinner. We will be back next year - unfortunately we needed better weather to fully appreciate Aberaeron though.

Room Tip: All rooms are individually designed - bathrooms are large - plenty of hot water.
