“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2012

Short cab ride to Beale Street. A few fast food type restaurants close by. Hotel was nice and clean. All of the employees were very nice and helpful. There was security onsite in the evening. The breakfast was not much to talk about. There was no hot water in the hotel during the two nights we stayed. It appears the hotel is not equipped to handle a sellout.

This location was easy to find and convenient to many different Memphis attractions. It was close to Beale Street, yet far enough away to be quiet. The hotel was very clean, attractive, and well maintained. Amenities included a full hot breakfast, wireless internet, fitness center, and free parking. Overall, very satisfied. We would definitely stay there again the next time we're in Memphis.

Great location. Walking distance to the Trolley to go into Downtown/Beale. Far enough away to be quiet at night. Older property but very well maintained.

As for the neighbourhood its clean and quiet by Memphis standards. I don't know where in Memphis is less sketchy, but I can think of lots of places that are more sketchy!

It appears to be an older hotel/motel that was made over into a Holiday Inn Express sometime in the last decade. It has all the features of a typical Holiday Inn Express and is well maintained. There is plenty of free parking on site. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even down to helping direct us to a restaurant downtown. It's very convenient to I-440 and the medical center. It's about a 5 minute drive into downtown as well as into the Victorian historic district. For us it was a perfect choice for our Memphis visit. We were extremely glad we didn't choose to stay right downtown on Beale Street due to parking issues and noise from the drunken party people. We would definitely stay again.

The location near the medical center worked for us...although neighborhoods nearby were a little shaky, things seemed fine immediately in the medical center area. we could get to downtown via the trolley a couple blocks away (the trolley was quaint but a disappointment as a mass transit system), and could easily drive to downtown, Graceland, the zoo, etc.
The rooms were good, standard rooms -- well-furnished, clean, quiet. The breakfast (included) was great; different choices every day (and popcorn available as a snack at night). Wireless internet and parking was included. The service was good. The outdoor pool was fine. Overall a good value.

First off, if you're looking to partake in the nightlife of Memphis or late nights on Beale Street, this is probably not the place for you. It is a short drive from those areas, and for a number of reasons, NOT a walkable distance.

That being said, I stayed here for a few days to attend a few different events and a concert, all scattered around the Memphis area. The hotel worked great for my needs, and though I rarely notice it, I have to admit that the breakfast offerings were far more impressive than most places I've been in the US.

As noted in other reviews, the neighborhood isn't bad, but it can be a bit sketchy late at night. However, whether we were heading down to Beale Street or one of the local concert venues, the location worked great. Also, the hotel is very easy to find and is a quick drive from the airport.

The rooms were comfortable for both my friend and I, and the wireless internet was reliable in terms of both signal and speed. There was also ample workspace, as both my friend and I had a decent amount of work we needed to get done during our stay.

Overall, it was a positive experience, and I would certainly stay here again when I next visit the Memphis area.

This hotel was overall nice. There rooms are pretty expensive, we booked for a wednesday through a 3rd party(expedia) and paid $101 bucks. We notice some mystery stains on the linen and could not determine if the bed was dressed with clean or dirty linen. We also made it to breakfast around 6:50am and notice the guy removing the bacon from the breakfast area without returning anymore. When he was asked about the bacon, he said that was it for the day. So if you want meat with your breakfast, it is best to get there between the hour of 6:00am-7:00am. The rest of the breakfast experience was pretty great, they even have a machine that makes pancakes, all you have to do is push a button. The also provide their customers with free popcorn, tea, and coffee throughout the day which is great. They also have a list in the elevator with all of the recent and upcoming events in the area listed. Nice hotel and nice location.
