Miss Polly's is Soul Food at it's finest!
My husband and I went to Miss Polly's after reading all the great reviews on Yelp (thanks friends). It was AMAZING!
We were fortunate enough to get the best seat in the house (the first tall table by the door... in case you were wondering). We sat next to each other and watched the hilarious tourists pass by on Beale Street. Our server exuded that warm southern charm & hospitality that the south is famous for and she made recommendations on what to order (though I am positive everything on their menu is fried-delicious-ness), I love when a server gives their "tips".
We settled on Bud-Light ($3.50 each, bottle), the Fried Pickles & Fried Green Tomato appetizers ($5.95 for the combo) and a 4 piece of their Fried Chicken Wings (we didn't want any sides with our chicken and these wings are HUGE, not your normal "buffalo" tiny wings... full giant wings, $6.50). We ordered them plain (at our severs recommendation) but she graciously brought us the wing sauce to dip (YUM, really yum!).
After taking off about 3 months off of our lives with all the delicious fried delights... we decided it WAS WORTH IT! Everything that is perfect about southern "heart attack at age 40" foods, is at Miss Polly's.
It's location, right in the heart of Beale Street, is ideal for both people watching and taking your beer on-the-go & finding a joint with some lives blues playing (you'll need a place to sit for awhile after all the yummy fried goodness). If you're ready for some down home southern cookin' Miss Polly's is it, it just doesn't get any more guilt-fully perfect.
