“Miss Polly's is Soul Food at it's Finest!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2010

Miss Polly's is Soul Food at it's finest!

My husband and I went to Miss Polly's after reading all the great reviews on Yelp (thanks friends). It was AMAZING!

A-MA-ZING!!!!!!!!!!!

We were fortunate enough to get the best seat in the house (the first tall table by the door... in case you were wondering). We sat next to each other and watched the hilarious tourists pass by on Beale Street. Our server exuded that warm southern charm & hospitality that the south is famous for and she made recommendations on what to order (though I am positive everything on their menu is fried-delicious-ness), I love when a server gives their "tips".

We settled on Bud-Light ($3.50 each, bottle), the Fried Pickles & Fried Green Tomato appetizers ($5.95 for the combo) and a 4 piece of their Fried Chicken Wings (we didn't want any sides with our chicken and these wings are HUGE, not your normal "buffalo" tiny wings... full giant wings, $6.50). We ordered them plain (at our severs recommendation) but she graciously brought us the wing sauce to dip (YUM, really yum!).

After taking off about 3 months off of our lives with all the delicious fried delights... we decided it WAS WORTH IT! Everything that is perfect about southern "heart attack at age 40" foods, is at Miss Polly's.

It's location, right in the heart of Beale Street, is ideal for both people watching and taking your beer on-the-go & finding a joint with some lives blues playing (you'll need a place to sit for awhile after all the yummy fried goodness). If you're ready for some down home southern cookin' Miss Polly's is it, it just doesn't get any more guilt-fully perfect.

“Great Food, Great staff.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2010

This was our first stop to eat here in Memphis, just strolling on Beale St. checking out all the menus. This was one of the final locations, and soooooo glad we stopped to eat there!!! I had the Turkey dinner with Mac & cheese and fries. The turkey and gravy were moist and wonderful! And the mac&cheese was to die for! My boyfriend had the Hen house which was chicken and waffles. He said he loves fried chicken but he hadn't had chicken till today!! So, eat here! The waitress gave us must do's here in town and the cook was awesome!

“okay place on Beale St”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2010

I was a little disappointed in the fried chicken at Miss Polly's. More than a little dry. I guess I thought that a restaurant devoted to frying chicken would serve better fried chicken. Not great. Interesting sides. Not horrible. Not that good either.

“Best Chicken Ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2010

Miss Pollys was fun and cute and had the best chicken ever! The food is cooked to order and is hot and fresh when you get it. The chicken has a different level of heat and spice per piece sometimes per bite but its a nice surprise, the waffle was good too. A great meal for a low price!

“Super Friendly - Good Food - Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2010

I ate breakfast at Miss Polly's two of the three days I was in Memphis. The first day was because I was flagged down and talked into by a super friendly gentleman (can't remember his name) and the second day because the service was great, people friendly, and the atmosphere was relaxing. Ended up having good conversations with the staff, etc. Stopped in for a beer in the evening, and just an all around nice place. Nothing out of this world other than a unique place with friendly people, good food, and cold beer that happens to be located smack dab in the center of Beale.
