“I felt like I was walking into the diner from The Blues Brothers! Great Place”

I agree...the best fried pickles and sweet slaw! When you travel down Beale St. with kids and they want chicken strips and the adults want to stay away from the Hard Rock Cafes of the world, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!! Great food, great atmosphere, great service, BEST FRIED CHICKEN I've ever had...and I wasn't in the mood for fried chicken when I walked in the door! (Another hint that this was going to be good...locals were eating there!)

“The best fried pickles EVER!”

Ms. Polly's has delicious southern food, but the best thing we tried were the fried pickles, they were delic! The mac n cheese was yummy too. The greens were fabulous. Nothing on the menu was low fat though, so do not try to diet in Memphis... The corn bread was wonderful too... Try the sweet tea, have your picture taken with the chicken and tell the guy holding the menu outside hello...

“Finally found a good biscuit...”

Having been recommended to us by a band of local travelers on Beale St., we hit Miss Polly's Soul City Cafe before heading out to wander Mud Island. The Hampton Inn's breakfast was fine, but we were looking for some variety. Glad we went. Coffee was good, grits and egg dishes were solid and the biscuits were right on. Why we ate breakfast with a large stuffed Parrot was never quite clear, but he was enjoyable company and didn't eat much. A new place and it shows amidst all the other more well-visited establishments on Beale. If this breakfast is an indication of the quality of their lunch and dinner food, they should be successful.
