“Yummy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2009

I ate here with my mom and daughter on a Saturday night. Service was fast and the food was absolutely delicious! It is FRESH seafood. Not the frozen chain restaurant food. It wasn't stuffy or expensive. I had shrimp and catfish. Both were excellent. I will make this a must whenever I am in Memphis.

“Great Food. Great Prices. Fun Atmosphere.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2009

I ate lunch at The Flying Fish with some friends on Sunday. It's a very casual place. You order & pay for your food at the counter in the back and then are given a pager like you would get when you're waiting for a table at most other restaurants. They page you when your food is ready, which you pick up on a tray and take back to your table.

There are lots of options to choose from, from fried catfish, to frog legs, to oysters, to crawfish. I chose a grilled red snapper plate. At $10.50, I thought it was a great value. The food was good, and the atmosphere is fun. I recommend it and plan to return!

By the way, according to the sign on their wall, if you take a Billy Bass for them to hang on their wall, they'll give you a free basket of catfish!

“Loved this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2009

The shrimp were the best I have had in years! They were plump and fresh, fried to perfection. The atmosphere was great too. We drank and ate and watched the world walk by. The casual atmosphere and walk up counter makes the meal relaxed. A moment to cherish.

Excellent downtown location. Grilled veggies and fish are available for those wanting lighter fare, but the fried catfish is excellent.
