Owner description: The Home of the Blues comes alive on this city tour aboard Memphis' only music bus. See Beale Street, Sun Studio, Stax Records, the Lorraine Motel, movie locations and more, but the music is the difference on this tour. All of Backbeat Tours' guides are Memphis musicians, who play and sing selections from the city’s rich musical heritage, along with generous helpings of comedy and audience interaction. Ninety minutes of high-energy fun!

“Good overview of Memphis Music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

Took the tour and learned lots about Memphis and the Blues. We included the Sun Studio tour, which was the highlight. Also drove past the small apartment where Elvis lived for a while, visited Overton Park where he gave his first 'concert', got lots of insider information about the music scene during those heydays. Drove past Civil Rights Museum, Stax Studio, St Jude Hospital, typical landmarks, etc. If you are looking for a history of Memphis tour, or a city landmarks/current events tour, this is not the one for you. Focus on our tour was on music and music appreciation.

“Culture music & sightseeing all in one!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

This is a unique and creative way to tour Memphis. Not only do you learn about famous musicians you can hear one of their songs while singing along and playing tambourine. You get to see many of the attractions listed on TripAdvisor so its a great way to start a visit.

“You will have a great time and you will learn about Memphis”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2013

Our first trip to Memphis would have been much less interesting without the Mojo Music Bus Tour. It was very informative--did you kinow the King of the Blues (BB) and The King (Elvis) lived about 3 blocks apart in a "not-so-nice" part of town? Did you know you can sleep in the rooms that were Elvis' family when they lived in public housing? All this and more presented with humor and music--our guitar-slinging performer was extremely funny and factual as well. Take the extended tour that includees Sun Studio since you'll have to make that pilgrimmage anyway during your visit. A tour is always the best way to learn about a place you visit--and this tour is among the most enjoyable we've ever taken.

“A good overview”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

A fun tour with live music, mostly Elvis/Sun records information. Wished for more info on the blues scene; all in all a good overview of the downtowns history.
