“Went not expecting much, but enjoyed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

The Pink Palace is no Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, but I really had a good time. I had a few hours to kill on a Sunday afternoon, and I spent them here. I learned a lot in their evolution exhibit (not sure what to actually call it). I also really liked the life sized replica of the first piggy wiggly supermarket and the medical history/pharmacy section.

If you do go, check and see if the planetarium is opened or not....it was closed when I went.

“Passed the time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

We had a few hours to kill so we visited the Pink Palace. Our lunch at their little cafe inside was terrible and overpriced. Eat before you get there. We watched the Planetarium show which is very outdated. The older gentleman that took our tickets to get in was grumpy and rude. A few of the exhibits in the museum were broken or not functioning properly. Parts of the Mansion seemed empty and had a lot of extra space.

“Eclectic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2014

Recently went to the Pink Palace and it was more than I thought---it had more exhibits than I figured it would--a little bit of everything from shrunken heads, to civil rights, to circus memorabilia to grocery stores...not to mention an IMAX movie theater (closed while we were there for renovations) and a planetarium...definitely worth the price of admission.

“Amazing Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

Such a pleasure to visit.

Not a whole lot to see in the mansion, but what there is on display is extremely interesting and the museum displays are very good. It is a shame that the mansion has so much empty space when they say there is a lot in storage that could be displayed.

Surprising that there is not more marketing to promote this place ... as far as Memphis attractions go, this is better than most (and certainly better than the Elvis 'mansion' which is a country cottage compared to the Pink Palace).

The IMAX experience was also brilliant ... we saw one on caving which captivated us.

We also meandered around surrounding streets and this showed a lot about the architecture of the Memphis elite.

A fantastic place ... a must see!

And there is a great cafe there, as well.
