“Surprisingly good!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012 via mobile

We were on Beale Street during the noon hour on a trip to Memphis. We had our dog so we needed to eat outside. Whew this place looks like a dive. However the food was really really good. I had a shrimp po boy and my husband had the étouffée. We both loved our food.

“Generous Portions”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

My husband and I dined here and enjoyed the food and music. There was a good atmosphere and the food was good. It was nice to find somewhere offering a bit more choice and serving food on proper plates with real cutlery! We found so many places on Beale Street served food on plastic plates with plastic knives and forks to eat with.

The portions are very generous and we shared a starter and main course between us and found that to be plenty. We chose Crab Cakes to start followed by Seafood Pasta and I can recommend both dishes. The music playing whilst we were there was good too.

If you want something that isn't fried or just want a change from the standard food served then try Kings Palace.

“Good food, great music and atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

Excellent service from our waitress and cool music provided by David Bowen. There appeared to be a large party in and he catered to all tastes but his blues stuff was superb.

“The Best Gumbo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Kings Palace Cafe on Beale Street served the best Gumbo I've ever tasted. They should market that Gumbo. The prices are very reasonable.

“BEST HAPPY HOUR ON BEALE ST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

I didn't try the food but every day I was in Memphis the wife and I would stop by there for happy hour and sit out front to people watch on Beale St.
Least expensive happy hour on the street.
