This was about our 3rd or 4th visit to Fleming's, and we were not disappointed. We had hoped to sit in the bar and have their small plates, as we were coming from another party. The bar was full, with a 45 minute wait, so they offered to seat us in the dining room (we arrived around 6 p.m., no reservation, Sunday night).
We did order from the small plates menu: beef tenderloin slices with risotto, and lamb chops. There were 4 of us, and the other couple ordered the same. We had a side of their shoestring fries and also mushrooms, and we also shared a dessert, lava cake with whipped cream, ice cream, and chocolate sauce.
The 3 of us who had wine were offered, and took, a 'glass + 1/2 glass' (bigger), which was an excellent option, and their wine list is extraordinary. They have also added, since last there, ipads on the tables with their wine list, which also has an option to email yourself a wine that you want to remember!
The service was excellent, or maybe even excellent plus more, from all of the staff with whom we had contact. I might add that, when Memphis's only French Master Chef is sitting at the next table, you know you are at a great restaurant. We are looking forward to our next visit there, and recomment it highly. It is a little on the pricey side, but we always like the old adage 'you get what you pay for', definitely true at Fleming's.
