“Good Piano Bar at Night”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Silky's is a mix-match of many things. Some good, some not so good, but it's worth a visit nonetheless. The service can be a little slow when they are busy, but who's service isn't during busy times! The food is pretty good, and the dueling piano's can get a little wild! Be forewarned, though, this is a not a place to bring young children for a meal when the pianos are going as the language can get a little "dicey".

“Not fancy but fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Live music. Darker decor. Large bar area. Basic menu with Gumbo, catfish, corned beef sandwiches. Discounted beers. Younger crowd, but respectible. Reasonable pricing.

“Beale Street favorite!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

We stopped in two nights in a row for entertaining, great live music on the pianos. The bartender remembered us from the night before was was extremely friendly and speedy! The atmosphere is perfect for a great night out. Definitely worth your time if you're walking around Beale Street!

“(Almost) Great Live Music”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

My daughter and I were in Memphis for a long weekend, including a Grizzlies game. After finishing the last tour of the day at the Gibson factory (put this on your "to do" list), we walked by Silky's and heard one awesome singer inside. Looking for a place to watch the NCAA regional finals, we walked on in.

If we were really interested in one of the teams, this was maybe a bad decision as we quickly became more interested in the singer than the game. On her Facebook page, Barbara Blue calls herself "The Reigning Queen Of Beale Street." I'm perfectly fine with that. She was amazing. She engages the crowd with requests, and quickly honors those requests with perhaps the best version you have ever heard. She sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" and had my daughter in tears. If you stop in only to listen to her, you'll thank me.

But if you stay much later than that, you may change your mind. Following the talented Ms. Blue were the Dueling Pianos. I love dueling pianos. Always a good time. Or not.

The two that played that Sunday night were very disappointing. Can you imagine them NOT knowing "Bennie and the Jets?" In fact, they did not know any of the requests. So after about 20 minutes and few insults at the crowd, we went down the street.

Great drink selection at typical Beale St prices. Service was very good, except for the waiter that made my daughter (21 yrs old) uncomfortable with his flirting.

“Fun place great music burgers and beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

We had fun. We enjoyed the options on beer and wine. The live music was very good. The burger is one of the best I have tasted. The pictures and decorations are fun to look at while your there. A very rich history and a must see if your in the Beale street area.
