A dinner for two in the $150 range, without drinks, for Memphis most often would be an exceptional meal, not this night at the Capriccio Grill. There are many Memphis restaurants offer higher quality at lower prices.
My wife's surf and turf had two large lobster tails well prepared but the fillet didn't come close. The first attempt was served medium, not medium rare as ordered. Once that was corrected, a new steak, the flavor just wasn't there. My lamb chops were o. k. but not over the top. The sides, with the exception of the glazed brussel sprouts, were bland and unexceptional.
Service from the kitchen was slow on a slow night and the waiter was pleasant and courteous but spent portions of the evening chatting with other wait staff instead of his tables.
This may be a restaurant living on its location, within the Peabody Hotel, or past glory. Doesn't matter, this night was a miss.
