“The best of Memphis. Don't miss Shelby Farms if you love the outdoors.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

Shelby Farms Park is one of the best assets Memphis has. It is one of the largest urban parks in the country. You can find wonderful trails to walk, bike or skate around lakes and also through the woods. There is a farmers market, paddle boats, horse back riding, picnic areas, play ground, Frisbee golf, fishing, and an exceptional dog park. The dog park has hundreds of acres of rolling hills, lakes, wooded trails and meadows for your four legged friend to run off leash. Various seasonal activities and events as well.

“GREAT outdoor site to see in Memphis!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

This is a great park to visit in Memphis. Plan to take a picnic or take your running shoes and run or walk the trail while there! There is an AWESOME playground for the kids with lots of neat slides. Great spot to let the kids run around - play frisbee, anything! I will definitely bring my family back and have a picnic! So relaxing and beautiful!

“Woodland Discovery Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012 via mobile

We enjoyed the Woodland Discovery Park with our 6 & 7 year old son & daughter. There are three main areas to enjoy encluding a large area of green space to enjoy as well. The park has a water feature for the kids to enjoyso you may want to bring towels, clean clothes and possibly flip flops (unless your kids like to climb!), there are several unique features of this park including "slides", climbing nets, a few tree houses, and swings. Bring cash for sno cones, or an ice chest with drinks or a lunch!

“Very large and lot's to do”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012

We love the park but the jogging trails can be very crowded in the summer on the weekends. Great paved and non-paved paths to bicycle and jog on. Lots of shaded picnic areas too if you want to spend the day. Good place to get on the “Green Line” and bicycle to mid-town Memphis or Germantown. Make sure to lock up you vehicle if you do and don’t leave anything laying in full view. There has been a number of cars broken into here.
