“Upscale accommodations and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

Memphis Hilton epitomizes southern hospitality with style. Attended conference and was pleased with the accommodations and meeting rooms. Hotel staff were able to advise on ground transportation, local restaurants and conference info.

I have stayed at this Hilton for several years for business. Convenient location to good restaurants. Nice staff. But things are going down hill.

Heaps of trash and beer cans left in lobby more than 24 hours. People smoking in rooms, which seeps into yours, despite "no smoking" hotel claim. You can hear right through the walls. On Monday I heard the entire conversation of the people next door from 1 - 4:30 a.m., and then they switched on the radio presumably to help them sleep. But not me.

There are structural problems as well. There was a drip, drip, drip of water condensation leaking into my room all night (see photo.) Doors, tubs, walls nicked.

Firstly, lovely hotel. Polite bellmen. If you want to pay high price for a non-smoking hotel then go somewhere else. Smoking is immediately as you enter and exit the lovely high-rise hotel. Our room on 16h floor was terribly smokey. I reported it at 5 p.m. after a long day out, then again at 7 p.m. Then again at 10 p.m. Finally, after begging for a room change, we were moved. The air quality was good on level P. That's below level 1. :/ We have allergies in the family and with springtime and smoke this was a very bad combination. Bathroom did not lock. TV guide did not work. Was told someone would need to come to the room instead of talking me through television issues. I'm sorry; staff needs to be trained to troubleshoot via phone first. For the price, I was really hoping to enjoy this hotel. Restaurant was nice and food was delicious. Bellmen are the best thing about this hotel, and they don't deserve to work in the smoke in their workspace. Management needs to change this for the health of the bellmen.

Room Tip: Not a non-smoking hotel. No paper tv guide; automated tv guide did not work. Bathroom door lock was...

I stayed at this hotel in the Spring of 2014. There were a lot of reviews stating issues with security and condensation so I was apprehensive as I did not want to stay somewhere unsafe nor in a place that has water related issues that can come with condensation such as mildew and mold due to personal safety and health reasons. During my stay there were no such related issues with my experience at the Hilton. The front check in staff were professional, polite and efficient, the security staff were friendly and welcoming to guests, and staff cleaning the rooms were helpful and assisting. The room was clean, relaxing, with some nice features such as full mirror, decent closet space, coffee or tea maker, ironing supplies, and a hair dyer. A nice added bonus was it had a fun view overlooking a duck pond and the pool, however if you are afraid of heights it may not be the best place for you as the windows cover the whole outside wall as this hotel as the Hilton is in the shape of a glass tower. The room is not set up with any sources of food prep or storage such as a microwave or refrigerator. I was able to connect to the wifi network the next day after the first night I had some difficulty on one of my devices however my phone was not able to ever connect successfully. A noted drawback was the rooms were not very insulated for sounds you could hear water running and doors slamming from adjacent rooms so this may not be a good option if you are a light sleeper or your kids tend to get a little wild and loud. The location was convenient to the location of my event in Midtown and it was easy to get downtown for some fun on Beale Street. There were great options for places to eat right down the road. I never felt uncomfortable or in fear for my safety. The only thing I have to say is the lack of follow up with the email I sent the manager regarding my initial concerns and the staff whom pressed me to fill out the rewards card did not follow up with placing the rewards card under my door as stated they would. Overall I would recommend this hotel finding the price a value that was comparable to what I was expecting out of a typical hotel stay. If you want extra thrills and services you may want to go to a more luxurious and expensive hotel chain.

The hotel looks nice in pictures and lobby is beautiful, but the hallways by the guest rooms are not clean (were always filled with trash / cigarette butts were on the floor) and the smell of cigarette smoke filled the hallways and guest rooms, even on the non-smoking floors. Staff were not very helpful / quick to respond to calls.

This is a grand old lady that has been part of different hotel chains the Hilton is the current owner.
The lobby is very nice and check in is personal and friendly. Stayed on a high floor with a great view. Rooms are on the small side with very small bathrooms. The hotel is a tower so the rooms are pie shaped with large windows. If you have a problem with heights don't stay on a high floor. Beds are comfortable and rooms are well maintained.
The staff is the key to the high marks I give this hotel they are very good; helpful, enthusiastic and kind.
This was a very good business trip. I will stay here again.
