“The property is clean and all freshly refurnished.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

This hotel is like finding an oasis in a neighborhood that has seen better days. The property is clean and all freshly refurnished. Everything looks freshly painted or replaced. Front desk clerk was efficient. The room had a wet bar in addition to the bathroom sink. The king bed was comfortable. Unfortunately our evening sleep was interrupted several times by loud cars and people yelling at the hotel property across the street. The free breakfast was very sparse and basic.
The property was a good value for an evening on the road. The hotel itself was okay but would look for other options next time and not stay in this neighborhood again.

Room Tip: select a room away from street.

They are totally refurbishing the rooms here. Hampton inn quality breakfast, which you usually don't get at this chain. Nicer pool area, clean. Very friendly staff. Nice overall hotel. I would tell them to clean the elevator, but they are under construction....I think you'll be comfortable here. They are trying hard.

Nice, clean, comfortable room and excellent customer service. The staff even put us at the front of the hotel so our trailer and towed car would be in view. Very good experience.Neal was great.

My husband and i stayed at the hotel for one night and we were very comfortable. room was large and clean, bed was comfy.
The only downside was that our room was on the front of the building and it was quite noisy as there is a busy road and right facing there are factory buildings which may be quite noisy if you stay in the week (we stayed on sat night).
Breakfast was basic but adequate.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights while in Memphis. The location is great because it's right off the interstate and easy to get to. It's close enough to downtown and things to do but not so close that the neighborhood seems bad. The surrounding properties are motels and slightly sketchy, but we came at night and didn't feel unsafe. The parking situation isn't that great- there doesn't seem to be a lot of spots, but you can use your key to get in entrances around the perimeter of the property which makes that okay.

Our room was clean and spacious. The mattress appeared new, and the bed was very comfortable. The tv was large and had tons of channels. The fridge and microwave were both spotless. The only complaint we have with the room is that the water pressure was pretty bad.

We didn't use the indoor pool but it looked clean and in good order. There were kids playing in it every time we walked by. The breakfast was okay. It does have short hours (6-9 am every day), and the area is kind of small so it got crowded. Food was 2 kinds of cereal, bread/bagels, waffles, hard boiled eggs, bananas (no other fruit), sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice, milk.

Check in and out were both easy. We didn't have any problems so we never contacted the front desk. Our room was about $75/night (with taxes), so it was an overall great value. We'd return here next time we're in the area.

My girlfriend and I are traveling across the country and we found this place on TripAdvisor. The reviews and photos we saw were ok, nothing spectacular but the price was right so we booked a room. The staff at the hotel is pretty lousy and not very friendly or helpful at all. We stayed in a King bedroom. The room was clean but it had a horrible smell to it, like bad body odor or someone had been using the microwave for onions. The bed was very comfortable and there was a big flat screen tv in the room. The breakfast was pretty awful, there was a poor selection and the food you could choose from wasn't very good. One big issue with this hotel is the parking lot. There are not enough parking spaces for all the rooms in this hotel. My girlfriend and I went out in Memphis and came back at about 2am and there was only 1 parking space left (I don't know where the guy who pulled in after me parked) so be aware that if you leave the property and it has a lot of rooms booked you might be S.O.L on a parking space. One upside to the parking lot is that there are cameras all over. The hotel has an indoor pool that is heated and has salt water, along with a hot tub. Lastly this hotel allows animals, so if you have any allergies to animals you might not want to stay here, as it didn't seem that they took very good care of the rooms (hence the terrible lingering odor).

We have been traveling forn over twos day from Arizona to Washington D.C. And I must say that my stay here at the La Quinta Inn & Suites Memphis East-Sycamore View. Is the best kept secret of the La Quinta Inns. The service was great and the warm and inviting suroundings make my night here a blessing. If you ever travel through this area, you must make this the one stop to relax. Heated pool and spa bring your swimsuit.
